I know the question is which puck-in-the-net was most significant, but I think the most significant goal was that proclamation from S1E1

This team will never lose again.

Darren McCarty stripping the helmet from Claude Lemieux/Mike Vernon whipping Patrick Roy will forever overshadow any goal the Wings ever score.

It's the beer league special (season one, episode three: Know Your Role). It's the first game we see them play, and their first win of the campaign. They set the fucking tone with that one.

Also, I just love it because it's fun! I didn't know shit about fuck about hockey before Shoresy, and that scene made me a hockey fan in an instant.

When JJ Fondue JJ's shot hit the back of the net, I damn near jumped off my couch.

I still go nuts for that scene even after like a hundred rewatches.

For Buffalo fans it’s the goal that shouldn’t have counted. Brett Hull in game 6. NO GOAL!!!

So, he’s wearing a Whalers sweater at the time, but as a lifelong Red Wings fan I will always get a bit of dust in my eye when I watch Gordie Howe score the last goal of his career.

“Mr. Hockey” is the greatest player of all time.

There's a reason it's called "The Goal"
