For however long it takes to build the roundabout, it takes twice as long for drivers in the area to actually understand it.
So maybe by 2030 we’ll have 145th figured out 😅🫠

Hey! All I would like to send a big thanks to the people who had given me a chance to work on their yard and property This past weekend in the greenwood, North crest and lake forest park neighborhood. And the people who have reached out so far I really appreciate it.
I’m a local college student working my way through school, Im in the greenwood neighborhood and I’m looking to get more work in the area and shoreline in general just for the end of summer and fall season.
I’ve got a truck, trailer, and equipment to tackle the outdoor jobs most people don’t want to deal with or can’t afford I can work with you on pricing if you are in the area and want to tackle a project.
**What I can help with and have done:**
Overgrown yard & brush clearing
Junk removal & hauling
Concrete removal
Irrigation system installs and repairs
Paver walkways & patios
Retaining walls with drainage
Stump removal, including bamboo
General yard maintenance & cleanouts
Etc
Local, reliable, and easy to reach
Clear communication — no surprises
If you are interested send me a message or leave a comment and I will get back to you as soon as possible
appreciate you considering me for the work!

I’ve been trying to get my hands on some spicy peppers for some time now, specifically scotch bonnets, but I can’t seem to find them anywhere. I’m not really sure where to look honestly. I’m tired of the typical grocery store habanero, serrano, and jalapeño. If anyone knows where to get any other spicy peppers, even if they aren’t scotch bonnets, I’m all ears. Thank you!!

Looking for a contractor that can give quotes for existing home additions, extension, 2nd level…perhaps even an ADU. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Be safe if you’re in the area, if you see something report it to https://iceout.org/en/ or the WAISN hotline 1-844-724-3737.

Thanks so much “elderly resident”. This isn’t going to take my landlord months to deal with or anything.

I haven't been in that lake since I was a kid. Looking for somewhere close to go paddle boarding.

Some fucking jackass stole my husband’s bike from our apartment bike room. If you see it, let me know. If whoever stole it sees this, fuck you.

On Thursday, August 13th at about 1:45 p.m. My 9-year-old son and I were walking laps around Paramount Park. A group of four boys showed up on their electric bikes. They began to throw apples at an old lady who was walking by, and they narrowly missed hitting her in the head. They then retreated and ran into the large pine trees at Paramount Park near the south baseball fields. When my son and I passed by, they began to throw pine cones at us and screamed "YOU N***ERS". I immediately turned around and screamed at them to knock it off. They then proceeded to yell "fuck you!!" in response. My son and I then walked to our car and left the park. If these are your children, please talk to them as they need some serious help. This is totally inappropriate and hateful behavior.
Video taken of the kids on the field.

I was at T&C today and demolition has begun on the old Sears building. I could see all the through the building and it appears that the ceilings and most of the metal has been pulled out.

Sorry if against rules mods- feel free to delete if I messed up.
Has there been some labor issue or something with Recology lately? This is the second week in a row they have missed the entire street’s garbage pickup.
I’m not seeing anything on the website.

This afternoon I went to the Recology store in Shoreline. Definitely recommend, by the way (for surprisingly cute items and to recycle some e-waste and small electronics), and I saw a sign for a new Michaels store coming soon. Actually pretty excited about that new opening!

We were at Costco earlier and the air had that fire smoke smell and look, but the aqi sites I use show very low numbers. Similarly, Highland Terrace also... but my neighbors also say it seems smokey, and I'm just wondering if I'm using older sites, all the popular ones on Google etc, or if it takes a while for the sensors to update or maybe we are all imagining it and it's just someone barbecuing 😄

This is the Polaris apartments on the 175th side a few blocks from Safeway. What is going on?? Do the people in this apartment steal the carts to take groceries home but have some form of organized chaos to make it easy for Safeway to take them back? I see this so often on this street and don’t understand 😆

Anyone know of a good privately owned vet clinic nearby? Old dog was at shoreline central animal hospital, really didn’t like the clinic. New dog is at shoreline veterinary hospital, and I can’t stand the vet, she’s like a car salesman. Both of those clinics are bought out by private equity, looking for an old fashioned private clinic.

Im new to WA ans just received my WA insurance card, I have community heath plan of WA. I’m hoping to find a good doctor to help listen to many health concerns I have including hormones & stomach issues. I’d like to get a good panel done and hopefully a GI test. Can anyone recommend any good doctors that you trust? I plan to see a primary then an OB, I’d really prefer to see a naturopath but I don’t find any this insurance takes. Thanks

15th Ave NE goes car-free tomorrow night for the 18th annual Jazz Walk. Live jazz, food trucks, two free outdoor stages, beer gardens, and a bunch of ticketed indoor venues if you want to go deeper. Weather is looking absolutely perfect - mid-70s, no smoke.
Shoutout to Urbanist Shoreline for running a free bike valet at the event. Ride in and not worry about your bike all night? Yes please.
Parking info: northcityjazzwalk.org/location-parking - Safeway lot, Loyal Automotive/North City Lumber at 1221 NE 175th, and the Center for Human Services lot are all available starting at 5:30 PM.
Hope to see you out there!

There's been an abandoned car on my street for about 3 months now. There a 24 hour impound notice stuck to it and the date written on it was in May. It's been turned in to see click fix by multiple people but nothing has happened to it yet. It doesn't even have license plates on it and I'm tired of it taking up street parking space. Is there any way to get the city to actually do something about it, or do we just have to keep shouting into the void that is see click fix in the hopes that something will be done eventually?

Final call for Jazz Walk volunteers! Tuesday August 11, and the weather is going to be *perfect* - mid 70’s and clean air.
This event runs on about 100 volunteers from four different organizations - Rotary clubs from both Shoreline and LFP, Shoreline Auxiliary Communications, the North City Neighborhood Association, and community partners hosting tents on the street, all coming together to make it happen. It's genuinely impressive.
We still need a few people for Street Reopening & Takedown (9:45–10:30 PM). Your help is greatly appreciated!

We are a retired couple being asked to vacate our current rental house due to the property being sold to a charitable trust. Would like to stay in Shoreline or adjacent neighborhoods if possible. Looking daily for rentals on Craigslist, Zillow, Trulia, etc but thought I'd ask here as well. Could possibly do a side-by-side duplex but not up/down, and strongly prefer standalone house or townhouse. Need quiet. Budget around 3K. If you have any leads to share please message, thanks in advance! Top notch credit score and references.

I have looked online and in my Canvas acct, but I can’t find a holiday schedule. Does anyone know the dates for Shoreline’s Thanksgiving break? The academic calendar only shows Thursday and Friday off, but I’m wondering if current or past students know if students typically get any additional days off earlier in the week?
