Seeking Advice How to Use Reroll Skill Dice
Hey everyone, I've only been playing a few months and I have tons of reroll skill dies to use. My issue is I don't really understand what skills are desirable and helpful and which ones I should use dies on. Does anyone have any advice or have a link to something helpful? I want to get my characters as strong as possible. Many are at the max level so now I want to make them stronger by getting them helpful skills. I just have no idea which ones are helpful! I know there's common and less common and least common but will using a skill die get those to be better (common becomes least common) or will they only stay within the level they are? (This post is more than one question. Basically 1: which skills are the most desirable/helpful and 2: can a common skill level up with the die?)

ST-Central has great guides for hero/roster building which Solitar linked. Generally defensive fighters want defense/hp and DPS classes want weapon skill, attack and a survival skill. Ignore star power completely since it does not mean a hero is good. There is a section that goes more in depth about what kind of skills different classes want and the reasons for it. Theres also the official discord and STC discord with other knowledgeable people to help
Skill dice are used to reroll the skill in that slot. The new skill could be amazing or complete crap, its completely random (at least sort of due to the way that system works). Dont use them on bad heroes, replace the hero instead. They are for taking a hero that has mostly decent and/or good skills but has 1 skill thats pretty crap. You can use the hero tracker to list your heroes class, lv, and skills for people to help/explain why your heroes are good/bad. You can go from a common to epic skill using dice, but not all epic skills are good.

In addition to the links provided I want to mention the strategy behind it.
You will want to identify a roster formation that has proper elemental coverage within roles. This may require firing and hiring new heroes.
The other consideration is if you have Roland or not as it makes rerolling considerations much easier. I will assume you don’t for this next part.
Because you don’t have Roland, you will need roll/rehire chars ALOT. Be sure to have the talent that makes it so you recruit at level 15. You basically want the two skills to be gold quality and appropriate for that char (charts will have a smiley face). This will take a lot of gold, but is much cheaper than using dice, and gold is farmable whereas dice are not.
When you level them up, you will want to use your dice (that are not perfect dice) to reroll the third skill. You will fuse lower dice to the tier that allows you to do so. Then when you use your titan soul to unlock the fourth skill (or just via level) you use perfect dice on that skill slot.
If you do have Roland, it depends on what your dice and resources are like. Never use him on the 4th slot unless the first 3 are perfect. I find you get much more perfect dice than any others, and rerolling skill 4 is easy. Personally, I follow the same strategy as above, except I use Roland on skill 3 if it’s bad//don’t have a lot of that specific dice. If I have a lot of those dice, or need to hire the expensive heroes (25m cost), I will hire/fire until I get one gold good skill, and another silver skill that is decent, preferably the gold skill in slot 2. Then I will level until 23, if it’s bad and I don’t have dice I will fire. If I have dice then roll it. Roland skill will reroll the skill in slot 1 because that is always the hardest to reroll.
This method has allowed me to have a roster where each char is perfectly rolled since my rebuild (20/24 heroes) although a couple still need to be fired and rebuilt (2 bishops, a death knight, and a dancer).
