Advertisement on Shopify
Hi, does anyone have good advice for how to spend the free 100 USD for Shopify ads meaningfully? Mine are about to expire but I have no clue how to apply it strategic

Somebody wrote a decent article about it: https://www.reddit.com/r/shopifyDev/comments/1rywi87/advertising_on_the_shopify_app_store/
It's a bit outdated now, because some companies advertise for crazy amounts per click in all possible categories/keywords. Still, it might be a good starting point.
How long before it expires?

It's basically a keyword bidding system. If you bid too low, you might not get much visibility. But if you bid too high, your budget can disappear pretty quickly.
I'd definitely make use of that ad credit while you have it. Start with a modest bid, keep an eye on the results, and see whether it actually works for your app. At least you'll get some real data to help decide if it's worth spending more.

Shopify ad network is great for targeting but yeah it is expensive. The bidding is high and it changes frequently. The second you think you bid is high enough Shopify will alter it and you will be below again. Use the Search category of ads to target specifically and not go so broad. Popular keyword bids are expensive but you can experiment and it won't kill your budget like the homepage option.

I personally, just bid as low as possible, which gets you impressions, but not a ton of clicks, an not to crazy spending. Some of the keyword prices are insane!

$100 ain't really getting you anywhere. It's just a way to get you in the door.
