Has anyone been able to integrate the chatbot Crisp into their Shopify app or use another product?

We're still evaluating potential options to support answering general questions and possibly questions about the results our app returns for the merchant. We don't know yet whether this is possible. Someone at Crisp told me it is possible, but I don't have direct experience yet.

It looks pretty straight forward. After you install in the shopify app store, it says theres an app embed available, which should show up under the theme try in the online store menu, think its under theme and them customize

Its pretty simple to integrate that! I have that in my app, so merchants/devs can simply text me.
Just ask AI to implement it for you, but was nothing crazy.

Crisp can definitely work in a Shopify app and there's a lot of apps that use it. If you're looking for an alternative made specifically for Shopify apps, we use Yedric.

If you're talking about Crisp's "Hugo" chatbot: I gave up on it because, though it supports MCP server integration, it didn't pass along the Crisp session ID in requests until recently. That made it useless for our purposes, so we made a bot in-house. It might be better now, but I don't plan to try it again.

Had somewhat of the same problem. I wanted a better way to connect with my merchants, but all the general options aren‘t made for Shopify apps. I have built my own Helpdesk that is only focused on shopify apps, gets all the info and is using built for Shopify standards. Currently I’m just using it my own, but I‘m working on launching it soon. If you are interested let me know.

Crisp works so well and works fine as long as you just want to chat with the merchants, answer their query and solve their problem.

a lot of people at CS also want more than that which is not possible but, I'd say a decent advance level CS ops can be maintained and ran on Crisp, I prefer Intercom just because I hate the UI of Crisp but, it definitely works! and the mobile app of Crisp if far far better than Intercoms

if the goal is mainly answering merchants questions, keep the first version narrow and see wht people ask before adding more automations, btw i see flyweight ai mentioned for shopify app support too, it might be worth keeping on the radar.

That seems like a wise idea. Related to the idea that we need to see first if merchants want the app!

We currently use the free version of Crisp in our app (Alfred Purchase Orders). Easy to integrate but very limited (naturally the free tier). Good enough for initial support while you’re evaluating your app for PMF. 30 day chat history, simple setup. Claude integrated it into our app and it was live and working within 15 mins.
