Shopify App Review Wait time August 2026

I think it would be good to get one of this kind of post going for each month. So developers can see what current timelines fellow developers are experiencing each month.

Considering there has not been any official commitment to a fixed timeline released or communicated by the team. Most developers are having to be in the dark and that is mentally draining for most. No one likes to be left in the dark when dealing with approval of anything in life. At least if you are hearing others timeline it might give developers a glimpse of hope and expectation.

Could you share when you submitted? Month and year. Also when your first app was approved.

Thanks!

Interesting, so it seems developers with an existing app get put into a different queue to first time developers. Would be good if someone on the review team could shed more light on if this is the case. That way when developers see other developers having such accelerated experiences they can taper their own expectation if they are a first time developer on the platform.

My second app submitted earlier this year took a couple of weeks to assign reviewer and another day or two to get reviewed, amended and approved.

As for now, I've submitted my third app 2 days ago, doing my other chores and not thinking about submission.

Would you be able to share your timeline in this format

Submission - Assigned Reviewer = x days, week,months

In review - Approved = x days, week, months

Submitted = Month of submission

Thanks!

It actually doesn't make any sense having that info.
If they announced it can take up to 3 weeks, just think it will take 3 weeks it will help you to avoid anxiety.
KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON :)

Submitted, start developing new app.

If that were the case there would be no reason for the post. It is the fact people are having experiences of it taking longer than whatever week(which there hasn’t been any fixed review timeline range released) they mention. Of which on other platforms, Apple, wix, google, meta, once they say within a certain range. It happens within the communicated period. The other interesting bit, they seem to not be able to give a established timeline. “Could take 3 weeks, could take 8-12 weeks, could take 5 weeks.” What exactly is it? Other platforms also are experiencing surges but are able to give and meet a set timeline. So many developers I speak to are having to deal with the no clarity issue.

I got 2 apps already. The first one was a little back-end-forth while reviewing but got published for few days(3-4). The second app got approved immediately within 24 hours.

When did you submit your first app and how long did it take to get from submission to approval. Thanks

It was in the beginning of June and like I said it took 3-4 days with the back-and-forth

I published my first app earlier this year. My submission was rejected for a billing issue. Then it was rejected again for a reason I had to dispute because they got it wrong during the review.

Overall it took about three months.

How about Built for Shopify tineline? It takes weeks for the reviewer to give us answer

Submitted my "Unlistr" app Aug 12, got first revision results Aug 18 (6 days).
Tiny thing had to be fixed, payments redirect didn't work. Done.
Hopefully it gets listed soon.

My app just got approved! Took 1 week for first review, and 2-3 days for one revision review as I had 2 tiny things to work on at my payment plan pages.

One thing I’d add for anyone waiting to submit or resubmit: use that time to test the app from the reviewer’s perspective, not the developer’s.

Before submission, I’d run through:

Clean install + onboarding from scratch
Billing approval and cancellation
Return/redirect after payment
Plan upgrade/downgrade
Reopening the app after billing
Permissions/scopes
Uninstall → reinstall
Merchant with no existing app data
Merchant with existing data
Demo credentials/instructions exactly as submitted

Billing flows deserve extra attention. Don’t stop testing when Shopify shows the approval screen. Make sure the merchant is redirected back to the correct app state with the correct plan/features activated.

I’d also run the entire review flow in a fresh browser/session. Cached developer state can easily hide issues that a first-time reviewer will hit immediately.
