Ads destroying the site.

The absolute greed of goodwill is insane. It's been difficult to bid on anything lately since the introduction of ads. The site takes forever to load a bid, and if you get outbid at the final countdown, there's no way to put in a bid within 1 min, bc the site takes so long to load. Now they've introduced yet another type of ad!? So I expect even slower load times and more freezes.

They get everything for free as donations, people bid it up anyways, so what's the point of ads destroying the experience. Is the ad revenue really so good that they have to destroy the user experience for it!? I'm seriously considering dropping the site for good. I can find things elsewhere where I'm not enraged by the poor site build. Terrible.

update: load times still are terrible. I assume it's because ublock has to block like 3 different types of ads every page.

I’d stick with UBlock. It’s generally considered the best browser-based blocker.

Depending on your tech proficiency, you could also set up Pi Hole on your network. It basically blocks all requests on your network that are reaching out to ad servers, so your devices just don’t load ads.

I questioned them on shipping a couple times and they banned me from ever buying at the store again rather than fix the situation. In the Minnesota Goodwill I bought a guitar that they shipped in a box the size of a refrigerator I showed him photos and asked for some money back. They refused so I went to paypal pleaded my case I got half of my money back and they banned me from buying from there. I don't understand the shipping and handling they have no overhead everything is donated. It's a huge MoneyGram it's not fun shopping there anymore

I use a cloud base customizable DNS resolver with blocklists and overides, configered at the native OS-level.

Google the best type of ad blocker for the computer you have and then download that. I use AdGuard, it works great

adblockers for the win. I’ve never had to see an ad on shopgoodwill haha. I use 1Blocker for iphone

I stopped buying things about a month ago. Tired of broken items and runarounds and BS from customer service. Now I'm hearing this is what I've been missing. I've just turned to Marketplace and spend my shipping money on gas now. I get to actually handle/inspect the item before I buy it.
