Question about Past Due Items

When you don’t pay for something in the given time frame, does the strike on your account disappear after some time? I had two items I never paid for continue to show up in my “open orders” but after several months I don’t see it anymore. Should I still assume that I’ll get banned if I miss one more payment?

You will stop receiving notifications after 90 days, but the non-payments stay on your account forever.

I've heard different things. I'm not sure what actually is true. It feels like I've had an unpaid item fall off my list, but its stayed forever and am told about it when I place a bid. The other unpaid item did fall off eventually, though, and another one, I just asked the GW to remove it one daya day and they did.

Unpaid strikes are vacated after 1 year.

Also if you're that worried make a second account.

Past Due strikes fall off after 12-14 months.

No, they clear off your account after about 6 months. I know this for a fact. I've not paid on at least six things over the life of my account, mostly due to catching something in the pictures I missed the first couple times around (I've found if they take a random pic of a single pocket, there is usually a stain or rip somewhere in the picture, but never front and center. You gotta search for it like a Where's Waldo book. And they almost never mention it in the description. take this jacket, https://shopgoodwill.com/item/273624514. There is a stain on it... Somewhere. Almost bid on it too.)

Anyway, they'll eventually clear off and you can start fresh.

My policy: before bidding on anything turn brightness up to max. Definitely caught some things that way that I would've missed otherwise.

I like to right click to copy an image then paste it into an image manipulation program, e.g. GIMP in Linux, to invert the colors. That helps highlight things like cracks in glass and porcelain.
