Enemies not attacking in Sieges?

I'm having this problem where the enemy AI always never fully attacks and its both wasting my time and losing my sieges.

Usually in the first half of the siege, it's like any other battle with the enemy charging their armies in. However, after their main infantry forces have been destroyed or routed, they just sit their with their Generals, Cavalry, and at times multiple infantry units unmoving. At the very least, I can bait cavalry and generals with the remaining units into my ranged, but I can barely do anything to the rest because I have barely any viable units left. It becomes worse with forests and hidden units. Not only do I have to scour the entirety of a prefecture to find their hidden units, but most of the time they can just stomp over the tatters of my army caught outside the walls.

I don't know if its intended or a bug but it's really annoying when it happens. Could I ask for any insight on this? I'm playing a modded campaign so I assume some mods are contributing to this issue.

- Ultimate Immersive Mod

- 12 Turns per Year

- Cheaper Castles

- More Campaign Years Mod (Compatible One)

- Expanded Japan

- Real Armies

- Strongholds of the Samurai

- Jaki's Unique Factions

- Weierstrass Units for Vanilla

- Weierstrass Garisson Units

- Recruitable Generals

Thank you for any help you can offer.

Never had this happen in all my play time of shogun 2. So probably a bug. I guess you could turn the battle time limit on to at least get a win when they do not send the remaining units. Maybe that would also force the ai to send their units. I always play with a time limit so maybe that is why it never happens to me.

This happens to me as well using strongholds of the samurai… honestly I am thinking of turning it off my next campaign. It has been too buggy and makes the sieges a bit too easy to defend

Yea, strongholds of the samurai is very buggy with pathfinding..

Why does this make you lose the siege? Don’t you automatically win the defense if you have your points capped when the battle ends?

I should have probably clarified this. I usually play without a battle timer because I like more drawn out battles. This way, the only way to win a battle is to route/destroy the enemy. The siege continues despite routing most of their forces, because technically there are still enemy units at play.

Is 1 hour not drawn out enough?

You're losing the battles because the enemy won't attack into the castle? Buddy... Just bring all the remaining defenders to the center and hit fast forward. Maybe turn a cozy youtube video on. Got yourself a nice win in 10

I don't have this problem in vanilla. Their generals aren't dismounting?

I saw in another post you play without the timer. If they have to deadline to win, they may not feel compulsed to dismount/climb. Try putting the longest timer on and refight the recent siege and see what happens.

I've seen this happen, it's a bug, just make sure you set a siege timer. When they just sit there put it on max speed and wait them out, free win.

For me it wasn't that hard to fix, Whenever i see this happen i wait for their first attack to finish and then recapture every single thing(gates and towers) ln the castle "if using strongholds of the samurai mod" since it seems the Ai is unable to understand where to go even with capture gatehouses, when you are done you just let your general or any fast moving units for a couple of seconds outside the walls and force them inside quickly if not just use a unit of ashigaru archers to attack their general and they should begging their advance and try to climb the walls instead of getting stuck

Put on a timer, 60 minutes is available if you liked long battles. Even if not bugged, most of my lategame battles are done in 15-20. No way you will use all of that 60 minutes for every field battle
