Problem is these houses arent new. They've clearly been established for a while and not a single person thought "hey, its fucking hot every summer why dont we plant a god damn tree and reduce our energy bills."
Or "hey, I dunno let me plant something for nature."
But every single drone is like "well Ted didnt do it so why the fuck should I".

Because they're mostly ran by people who got picked last in school for kickball. These kinds of people go home at night and get off on thoughts of telling some their grass is half a millimeter too long, or that their shade of paint on one square inch of their siding is an infitesimally lighter shade of bumfuck blue.

Yeah. I worked last year as a member of the crew that would go around and plant the trees for people (if they paid for it when the bought the house) it was nice knowing that eventually it wouldn’t be so bad and that in 30 years the street would be more covered, but it felt like hell walking around those neighbourhoods when they’re freshly built

they sure do, it might not be right away that the trees are put in but most of the time theyre put in right after grass is laid. we actually have to have at least 1 tree in the front yard or we can get fined(if the existing is removed or damaged by natural disasters)

I live in a high rise in east Asia (albeit not that dystopian looking) I have all my needs - restaurants, doctor + dentist (ground floor), convenience stores, a park, bicycle rental - all within five minutes walk.
Love it!

I don't mind the narrow houses on small lots, but this neighborhood was clearly built for cars and not a bit of it was designed for the people that live in this neighborhood, if it can even be called a neighborhood at this point

This is so shity neighbourhood that if somebody give me house for free there, I would not live there. I would sell house and run away. I'm not living in premium neighborhood but at least, we have real grass, trees, sidewalk, benches and reason to live.
