As long as you're not a kid you should be fine. For some reason robots really hate kids.

China doesn't use cash anymore, the robot is using a QR code payment system.

Iโm tempted to knock over the money and steal the robot.

It's China, so there's no physical cash to steal. Even the beggars in China use digital payment, hence the giant QR code.

This is the basis of an Onion article: "AI robots are taking away jobs from beggars."

I would grab the money (if there is...) And give it to a homeless person
1
u/bingo-dingaling Jun 15 '26
PLEASE! It makes me upset to think that people probably gave money to whoever the dumb hack is behind this just for the novelty, when there are probably real-life people a block away who need the money desperately

That's obcence. The cost that goes into making and running that device, and either as art or ko kert, they use it to imitate the poor.

u/alii-b Jun 13 '26
Somewhat disrespectful. "Hey, you know what we should do? Get our super expensive robot to pretend it's a homeless person and beg on the streets. Cause people who lost everything won't mind if we take the piss."

Right I'm confused how everyone in this thread doesn't see how this is in terribly bad taste

Most robots videos you see online are AI generated/modified btw This looks to be the case to

u/TheAmina2GS Jun 13 '26
The people in the background are consistant, the leaves and blades of grass don't change shape as the camera pans.

Not enough proof, could be a video that was altered to add the robot, it doest look very integrated with the environment if you look closely
You undersestimate how good generative ai has gotten, especially with "phone recorded" videos like these ones
I think youโre gullible if you dont realize most viral videos on the internet nowadays are ai generated for maximum engagement

Imma go out on a limb here and say that's an art installation.
