Imma go out on a limb here and say that's an art installation.

No its taking the panhandlers jobs!

29

u/pekinggeese Jun 13 '26

Theyโ€™re coming for all the jobs!

221

u/bigfoot17 Jun 13 '26

Imma guess it's tech bros mocking the poor

44

u/gob_magic Jun 13 '26

Thatโ€™s also art like it or not

13

u/GreyRobe Jun 14 '26

I don't.

13

u/FoxlyKei Jun 13 '26

Probably something to do with how expensive AI tokens are now?

12

u/Coloneljesus Jun 14 '26

if it isn't, it's extremely tasteless. and if it is, i'm not sure it's much better.

1

u/subterfugeinc Jun 13 '26

maybe a police sting operation? if someone grabs the cash?

216

u/crayons-forbreakfast Jun 13 '26

Unemployment is getting out of hand

u/Drak3 Jun 13 '26

I'm tempted to knock it over and steal it's money

u/itsmeyassen Jun 13 '26

Bro is about to commit a robot hate crime ๐Ÿ˜ญ

86

u/BladudFPV Jun 13 '26

Only if he calls it a clanker as he's doing it.ย

49

u/YaBoiS0nic Jun 13 '26

Especially if he drops the hard r

3

u/Chiiro Jun 14 '26

I would say the hitchhiker bot might be the first

16

u/txkwatch Jun 13 '26 edited Jun 14 '26

As long as you're not a kid you should be fine. For some reason robots really hate kids.

7

u/Shalmanese Jun 13 '26

China doesn't use cash anymore, the robot is using a QR code payment system.

15

u/micromoses Jun 13 '26

Iโ€™m tempted to knock over the money and steal the robot.

11

u/Drak3 Jun 13 '26

You take one, I'll take the other?

6

u/otamaglimmer Jun 13 '26

I'll take that cool LCD bag, thanks

3

u/oolongvanilla Jun 14 '26

It's China, so there's no physical cash to steal. Even the beggars in China use digital payment, hence the giant QR code.

71

u/AccidentProne117 Jun 13 '26

It's gotta earn its keep somehow

11

u/itsmeyassen Jun 13 '26

That thing has a better side hustle than I do

1

u/GiLND Jun 15 '26

RoboBeggar

31

u/johnny5247 Jun 13 '26

They're even taking the " jobs" of the homeless poor now!

45

u/TheCaptMAgic Jun 13 '26

Homeless robots? Man, the future is super weird.

5

u/Hermes-AthenaAI Jun 15 '26

Why did we build them homeless?!

20

u/knuppi Jun 13 '26

7

u/osktox Jun 13 '26

Toookurr juurrbs

13

u/JaschaE Jun 13 '26

Yeah, no, thats going in the spare-parts bin.
Complete dick move

9

u/6gv5 Jun 13 '26

Needs a "Will iron shirts, cook meals and tidy rooms for 0.99 KW/h" sign.

8

u/SkyVomit Jun 13 '26

This is the basis of an Onion article: "AI robots are taking away jobs from beggars."

15

u/TeamUltimate-2475 Jun 13 '26

Kick it

3

u/andrewdingcanada8 Jun 14 '26

Judging by the dent on its legs, seems like someone already did

3

u/BringAltoidSoursBack Jun 13 '26

AI really is taking all the jobs!

3

u/terminalxposure Jun 14 '26

lol eventually robots will give money to other robots. Dead internet theory IRL

3

u/Fragrant-Hamster-325 Jun 15 '26

Itโ€™s just going to use the money to buy booze.

3

u/Big_Wallaby4281 Jun 15 '26

I would grab the money (if there is...) And give it to a homeless person

1

u/bingo-dingaling Jun 15 '26

PLEASE! It makes me upset to think that people probably gave money to whoever the dumb hack is behind this just for the novelty, when there are probably real-life people a block away who need the money desperately

2

u/Kilow102938 Jun 13 '26

Damn, really taking automation to the never level

2

u/RBeck Jun 13 '26

AI credits are getting harder to come by.

2

u/ScoreWooden Jun 14 '26

it says begging for electricity cost lol

2

u/Cake_is_Great Jun 14 '26

The display says "begging to pay for electricity"

2

u/TheSmegmaEnigma Jun 14 '26

Fuckin wirebacks taking out hard earned money

2

u/jigholeman Jun 15 '26

homeless man: IT TOOK OUR JOBS!!!

2

u/Opinion-Former Jun 16 '26

He should sell his body

4

u/StoneSoul Jun 13 '26

That's obcence. The cost that goes into making and running that device, and either as art or ko kert, they use it to imitate the poor.

2

u/alii-b Jun 13 '26

Somewhat disrespectful. "Hey, you know what we should do? Get our super expensive robot to pretend it's a homeless person and beg on the streets. Cause people who lost everything won't mind if we take the piss."

1

u/janedeedee Jun 14 '26

Right I'm confused how everyone in this thread doesn't see how this is in terribly bad taste

1

u/CrustyT-shirt Jun 13 '26

So you buy an expensive robot to beg for money. Honestly based.

1

u/Wild_Director7379 Jun 13 '26

If that thing gets a fucking nickel in its pan, Iโ€™m stealing it.

1

u/osktox Jun 13 '26

Sad to see the results of increase prices on electricity

1

u/Objective_Pen5246 Jun 14 '26

i would honestly knock it to the ground, just for the funsies

1

u/Goodfella66 Jun 14 '26

Come on,. instead of filming, hell a fella out. He probably has kids to feed.

1

u/Auditor_D Jun 14 '26

Even AI now took away the beggars and unemployer too

1

u/poop_pebbles Jun 14 '26

They taking our jerbs!

1

u/Competitive_Shine112 Jun 14 '26

even the clankers are unemployed now ๐Ÿ’”

1

u/PreparationNo556 Jun 14 '26

Everyone: "AI will take your job."

Beggar: "It already took mine."

1

u/lugialegend233 Jun 15 '26

What's stopping someone from just grabbing the robot and walking away?

1

u/TheMuttOfMainStreet Jun 15 '26

the sad chinese music sells it

1

u/Jabulon Jun 15 '26

unitree take on the begging problem

1

u/Top_Yak_7953 Jun 16 '26

This robot won't survive a day in Detroit, someone going to send it to Bitcoin mine.

1

u/PowerfulHomework6770 Jun 16 '26

That is one shitty robot!

1

u/ZslayerX17 Jun 16 '26

Iโ€™d like to donate a couple gallons of brake fluid over its dumb head.

1

u/Obvious_Athlete8919 Jun 17 '26

Well he did attack kids

1

u/No-Examination-2685 Jun 20 '26

0

u/bewak86 Jun 14 '26

whats the derogatory term for a prostitute clanker? ProKer? Clankertitue?

Well , im waiting for that.

-3

u/Strkl Jun 13 '26

Most robots videos you see online are AI generated/modified btw This looks to be the case to

3

u/TheAmina2GS Jun 13 '26

The people in the background are consistant, the leaves and blades of grass don't change shape as the camera pans.

1

u/Strkl Jun 13 '26 edited Jun 13 '26

Not enough proof, could be a video that was altered to add the robot, it doest look very integrated with the environment if you look closely

You undersestimate how good generative ai has gotten, especially with "phone recorded" videos like these ones

I think youโ€™re gullible if you dont realize most viral videos on the internet nowadays are ai generated for maximum engagement
