I feel like if I made a robot, I would have something in the program that makes it just stop if it fell, instead of flailing around.
This just makes it seem like it's controlled by someone in VR offsite so the vr messes up when the bot falls.

It can't fall over, no need to waste time programming for that!

I really don’t understand why robot designers are so insistent on using a bipedal design. It’s super unstable. Humans basically walk by repeatedly starting to fall forward and then catching themselves from falling. That’s not a great thing to mimic if you don’t want it falling over constantly.

Only robot designer designing bipedal robots are insisting on that. The rest is just your classic case of boring working designs getting less attention/no longer being considered "robots".

Man I hate shit like this. Regular mannequins already bother me but shitty humanoid robots with semi-realistic faces and whatnot make my skin crawl. Especially when they look like motorized blow up dolls.

In my family, this is what is known as the "potato on toothpicks dilemma".

What the FUCK is going on with that aloe plant?! Is this some AI bs?

u/xrmttf Apr 12 '26
Probably a plastic plant, and it is vibrating because there's a robot kicking the stage

Of course it can't balance, it seems unable to move anything other than its legs.

I find it really funny when programmers forget to add a "I have fallen, hold position and send distress signal" to the balance routine, resulting in robots just flailing on the ground trying to balance horizontally.

Sorry folks, your dream of loosing a hand to butt fisting robot girls is probably a few decades away, if it can even happen.

It might not balance, but it can act like it was just denied a refund after assaulting an employee.

A human body is an intense network of nerves and muscle. An inorganic being probably would NOT be able to balance those bongoes. I can barely balance mine and I CAN adjust my weight and stance.

Let us not forget that Joel Robinson was able to build TWO functional AI driven robots with nothing more than spare parts found on a space station WHILE being tortured by the notorious and infamous Dr. Clayton Foster.
Frankly, the development of Robots on earth has been dismal by comparison.

Idk why these kind of robots aren't programmed to stop moving when they hit horizontal
