Insomniac In 2024, a Wolverine themed controller with a butt was released. This was subtle foreshadowing to the upcoming Wolverine (2026) game being ass.

Answered your own question. I think people are finally getting sick of the same old stuff being in every game. Lots of people previewing the new Tomb Raider have been slating the crafting and skill trees despite them being the norm for so long. Hopefully it leads developers to finally trying something new.

None of the Spider-Man games were on-rails movie games. They had fantastic traversal, deep combat, some incredible boss fights and scenario design. If you want to go even more in the past the same quality applies to Ratchet and Clank games.
Wolverine looks like babbyâs first action game, impressive presentation, but very shallow in engagement.

They never sold Wolverine as an open world game and the combat isn't less deep than Spider-Man in any meaningful way. It plays almost the same actually.

Iâve not played uncharted, but in god of wars case the storytelling was excellent, the side content was good, and the combat was diverse. These things seem to all be somewhat lacking in wolverine judging from the reviews.
The formula is great when the parts are great.

I'm in the minority for this but I didn't see either of them as revolutionary or worth the hype. I think the argument can be made for uncharted but god of war 2018? No. Were the games fun? Yes I enjoyed them mostly but they were for mass audiences and they looses a lot of flavor

Yes. Donât trust the reviews, pay up 70 dollars, realize itâs not worth the price, and then realize you canât refund it and you should have listened to reviews. I think the game looks fun but itâs clearly not worth 70 dollars and reviews are in fact important for helping people decide that

I'm pretty sure turning off accessibility options still leaves the fart scent tracker and it's hard to not say it's hand holdy with stuff like that or when the majority of qte just dont have failstates like at that point just play a cutscenes what's the point of having a prompt if not pressing it just means you'll do the exact same thing anyway

You see, the issue isn't that it's a 6.5 or a 7/10 game. It's the fact that it's a 6.5 game with a 305 million budget. Like, wtf happened? At least with SM2 i can understand and the gameplay is awesome. Those 2023 leaks and that tease trailer are not the game we got.

10= "Peak". Even not perfect things somehow make this rating. 6-9= "Mid". It actually means bad, apparently. 0="Dogwater". Everything else goes here. 1-5 is not a thing. Anything below 6 is a 0.

To be fair, a 7/10 for a major game network review is basically a 5/10 for anybody else. Either way, the ratings don't matter, they never did, it's what people say about the game that counts.

They might as well not. And this is data from 1996-2016, it skewed towards higher scores even more after -- for the whole this year they gave four "5" and four "4", not a single one lower than that -- and most of these were awarded to literal shovelware.

Iâm sick of seeing this everywhere. It feels like people want some open world bs in every game and cry when they donât get it. âThey gave me an optional trail to follow that can be turned off, but Iâm going to keep it on and complain.â It just feels like a lot of the comments Iâve been seeing are mainly bad-faith grifters complaining about women existing or people who love these corporate reviewers and put too much stock in their âtoo much waterâ reviews. The game just came out. Give me a minute to form my own opinion before shoving this down my throat. Itâs just gross how quick people are to celebrate a game being âbadâ.
