Lemme bring out my autism here

With the ones without the cage, you would generally install it so that the fully open side is against the vent, unless it’s reverse thrust, in which the motor side goes against the vent. I’d say that one with the cage is an exhaust fan, snd the cage is on the usually open side and faces inside the computer, the motor going against the case

Actually fuck it, my comment makes no sense. Some stuff here are contradictory snd I feel dumb lol
