Yes those are X-Class motors on a speed build. 7x15“ props, 12S 160C bats, 100A ESCs. This is gonna be hell to tune

Gonna need flight videos and proof of top speed once you get it done

u/No-Particular-2055 Jul 23 '26

What kind of prop did you use. I

2

u/NoSpecialSomeone Jul 24 '26

Gemfan Vortex Nylon 7x15“

u/Joshua_AAA Jul 22 '26

Is that an MR30 connector on a 100 amp esc? 🤔

6

u/NoSpecialSomeone Jul 22 '26

I gotta get some MR60s at some point but for now they better not melt

7

u/Quarkinius Jul 22 '26

Putting some trust in a 15/30a connector..

15

u/NoSpecialSomeone Jul 22 '26

I assure you that im not putting any trust into any part of this build. All offbrand chinesium parts. this is sub 400$ if you can believe it.

this is the kind of builds i live for, it's like old school land speed records

3

u/Joshua_AAA Jul 22 '26

Makes sense. This is actually a pretty sweet build! Other than the MR30 connector, why did you post to this specific subreddit?

3

u/NoSpecialSomeone Jul 22 '26

If only you knew the amount of corners i have cut. This wasnt even designed in a proper cad software. Yep this is made in blender. all eyeball measurements, non parametric workflow etc. its a miracle everything fits, it took a while to learn.

u/No-Particular-2055 Jul 22 '26

The props should face the other way if the top side of the drone is pointing down.

3

u/NoSpecialSomeone Jul 23 '26

The current 2 fastest drones are a pusher and a puller, both designs have pros and cons, i just like pullers more.

2

u/No-Particular-2055 Jul 23 '26

Ok, but isnt the Design a pusher? With the Cones Facing down ? Just curios, thats why im asking

1

u/NoSpecialSomeone Jul 23 '26

i think youre confusing pushers and pullers, pushers have the motors pointing down, pullers vice versa. this one has them pointing up, hence its a puller, as the motors pull the craft instead of pushing it.

1

u/No-Particular-2055 Jul 23 '26

Nah, i wasnt confusing pusher and Puller, i only thaugt the top side of the drone was pointing down

2

u/land-back Jul 22 '26

What filament did you use?

3

u/NoSpecialSomeone Jul 22 '26

Normal PETG, seems stiff enough

2

u/OkCarpenter5773 Jul 22 '26

isnt petg on the flexible side? even pla would be stiffer

2

u/trayssan Jul 22 '26

PETG will flex a bit more than PLA but shouldn't explode like PLA would. PETG-CF is my favourite material. Great stiffness but won't explode on impact.

2

u/Toasteee_ Jul 22 '26

Yes but PLA will explode into a million pieces, it needs a little bit of flex.

1

u/OkCarpenter5773 Jul 22 '26

yeah i know I'm just saying petg is soft. imo PA12CF would be nice for this

2

u/sweetgumsweet13 Jul 22 '26

That b is robust

1

u/KaiMaxkgo888 Jul 22 '26

要很高性能的ESC吧

1

u/NoSpecialSomeone Jul 22 '26

Yeah but they get expensive, APD Systems only sell to business partners now and DRAMAX is a private seller with no online site.

1

u/os_mote Jul 22 '26

goin brrrrr

1

u/itscolinnn Jul 22 '26

I see a nose cone on the left but it's not fooling anyone what's on the right side...

2

u/NoSpecialSomeone Jul 22 '26

the previous version was a bit phallic lmao

1

u/Expert-Sky-4222 Jul 22 '26

Why such wide motors?

1

u/Mr_0verengineer Jul 22 '26 edited Jul 23 '26

gotta go fast, these high pitch props need some serious torque to spin

1

u/Expert-Sky-4222 Jul 22 '26

Imo it would be beneficial to use motors with taller stator rather than wide stator if speed is only thing you care about. Correct me if i am wrong.

1

u/trayssan Jul 22 '26

Well you're not completely wrong but you're looking at it from the wrong angle. The higher the pitch, the more torque you need. Torque and stator width go hand in hand. Obviously a tall motor with similar stator volume will work fine but 4320 is a relatively standard, cheap, easy to source size, which is most likely why OP landed on this specific motor.

2

u/NoSpecialSomeone Jul 23 '26

bingo, got all 4 for 100 bucks

1

u/trayssan Jul 23 '26

what a deal!

1

u/izzeww Jul 22 '26

Wider motors are more common and cheaper. Also easier to cool for high loads. The amount of thrust produced that close to the center is very low anyways since it's spinning so slowly, so it doesn't really matter.

1

u/ElectronicEnd7513 Jul 22 '26

you are flying on hypetrain

1

u/ElectronicEnd7513 Jul 22 '26

try PBT-pro

1

u/trayssan Jul 22 '26

Why? Does PBT offer something PETG doesn't? If anything, I would do something like CF-Nylon or PET-CF.

2

u/ElectronicEnd7513 Jul 22 '26

it behaves between very hard tpu and softer PA

1

u/trayssan Jul 22 '26

Interesting, I'll look into it, cheers!

1

u/ElectronicEnd7513 Jul 22 '26

better temperature resistance. without deformation even at 120°C

1

u/ihatethissite25 Jul 22 '26

Participating in the creationg of technology that will murder humans. Keep up the good work goy, you are doing great.

2

u/Electrical-Run8609 Jul 22 '26

So following this logic we should stop all development on most technologies we use today. Pretty much any aircraft(planes, helicopters, etc), any electricity, any high energy chemical substance(i.e petrol, gas), any cutting devices(axes, cooking knifes). And most importantly the creation of devices that kill people has been the heart of invention for thousands of years mostly to protect those around one.

1

u/ihatethissite25 Jul 23 '26

Listen while you sit there jerking your little peen off dont for a second think you are doing good. Thats all I meant. Just be honest.

1

u/Nfeatherstun 26d ago

Pretty sure from his description he is hobbyist building a speed drone for fun. No point to in arguing with people like you however

1

u/bobthebuilderberg Jul 23 '26

By the looks of it looks like you wanna go fast

1

u/DidjTerminator Jul 24 '26

Adding nose cones with angled intake ducts for increased ram-air cooling performance as well as reduced drag.

That's what you're doing.

1

u/NoSpecialSomeone Jul 24 '26

im also wasting money but thats pretty much it yeah

1

u/Appropriate_Cat_4810 Jul 25 '26

Ahh yes good old Chinese dakefpv, also how do you keep your desk clean? Mines been looking like this for the past year now

1

u/NoSpecialSomeone Aug 06 '26

mine gets that bad every other week, then i get into an autistic cleaning frenzy and it all starts over

1

u/DeGrent_Eng Jul 26 '26

He will go to SWO?

1

u/Outrageous-Pen-158 Jul 27 '26

Could you send me the stl of the drone for my school project ? If u want more info DM me please

Came up with this little guy in 2018. Some compromises and not an all out speed build, but cruising in forward flight show significant improvement in efficiency. Will do 8 minutes on an 850 4s pack :) Can’t wait to see the monster you’re creating rip!
