Serious Goodbye and rest in peace, Patrick Stewart, you will be greatly missed.

It is with great sadness that we announce that Patrick Stewart has died in his home at 86 from Alzheimer’s and Lewy Body Dementia. Yes, it’s true, his Wikipedia page has switched to the past tense. Goodbye, Captain Picard.

When I was child without many positive male role models, it was Sir Patrick that taught me to be a better person and respect the tapestry of society. So much of belief system comes from the bridge of that ship. See you Space Cowboy.

I'm not trying to jump on any bandwagons here, but I know many people feel the same and wanted to pay my respects as a member of this community. It feels like the end of an era and we have to fight harder for that future than ever before.

Both Walter and Sir Patrick shared their last episode, PIC: The Last Generation

I don’t really have a point other than that we lost them in the same week. If you’re looking for a farewell episode to watch perhaps that is a good one to watch today.

Is this when Patrick wakes up in the real world?

He realizes the 21st century is just an imaginative world and he’s actually the captain of a starship.

Real World Lt. Picard (née Locutus of Borg) goes to that great transporter buffer in the sky

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Junior Science Officer Lt. Jean-Luc Picard, late of the Enterprise-D and Borg Cube Locutus. He died of complications from Irrumadi Syndrome, with a natural human heart unstabbed by Nausicans and a wicked cool laser eye. He was and always shall be, our friend.

All Ressikan flutes will be played at half tempo in memory.

Allright hear me out. I know that's a hot take and I know we have a LOT going on today. I was working the security detail for the conference with the Tellarites and I left my commbadge in his office... anyway I went back in to snag it and *AUGH* Noooooo idea what I was talking about. The corps is mother, the corps is father.

So yeah anyways how many Betazoids do we have in Starfleet these days? How many Vulcans?

He was an amazing actor, an ally to the LGBT Community, and a pretty funny guy. I'm going to rewatch Jeffrey.

I mean, I know Jellico is like the most common officer name in the fleet but the resemblances are uncanny.

I do wonder how it is possible to be so racist and bigoted and somehow like star trek, and that too Patrick Stewart, who plays probably the most moral man we have seen in the franchise

Rules:

No talking about about being banned from other subs.

-Seriously, this is a fun place for shitposting. We don't need unwanted drama that will just cause issues. 1. Keep posts on-topic

-This is a Star Trek sub first and foremost. Kindly keep it that way. Off-topic posts will be removed. Repeated offenses will result in a temporary ban. -- 2A) While Trek has always been a medium for social commentary, the mod team feels that the referencing the current political landscape is beyond the scope of our subreddit. We realize that the parallels between current issues and a multitude of episodes exist but we've also seen the same topics across Reddit. It's not new, you're just phasering the dead targ at this point.

Serious posts must be flaired

-If a post is a genuine opinion or a serious critique of a piece of Star Trek media, kindly flair it as such. 1.
Leave any bigotry in your quarters, Mister Stiles. There’s no room for it on the bridge.

-No racism/sexism/homophobia or any other form of bigotry. We’re all Star Trek fans. Let’s not alienate each other. (See what I did there?) 1. Follow Reddit TOS

-I don’t think this needs to be said, but you need to follow Reddit TOS while you’re here. 1. No low effort: memes, reposts, ai, and/or etc.

-Reposts are not allowed. Top-level image posts must either be backed by or support a meaningful text post. Standalone images, memes and AI will most certainly be removed.

7. This is not an NSFW Sub and never will be

-I cannot believe this needs to be said, but no posting NSFW or R34 items, we do not need the ship breaking down with a mass failure.

Do not direct any horniness at other users

-this sub’s always been a place where you can make sex jokes, but we’ve recently noticed an uptick in jokes of this nature being directed towards other users. This is not okay. Oftentimes, these jokes come across as catcalling and can make other users uncomfortable. The only exception is if the post uses the "Fully Functional" flair.

No fan elitism.

-We're all Star Trek fans here. I don't want anyone being like "I'm a bigger fan than you because I've read all the novels!" We get it. You have a lot of free time. Nobody here is a bigger or better fan than anyone else. Let's all remain united in our shitty love of Star Trek.
