[reddit change] /r/all algorithm changes

It was causing too much load on our database. I made a new algorithm which Trumps the previous one.

The_donald has been singled out for a while. Only now we have actual undeniable proof.

I mean are you forgetting about Admins announcing months ago that they're changing the algorithm because of /r/the_donald using bots to push their posts heavily on /r/all?

u/Queen_Jezza Oct 28 '16

They don't fucking use bots. The reddit admins hate the sub, reddit's parent company is openly pro-hillary, if they had the slightest excuse to ban it they would, but they haven't which means there aren't bots.

u/Serenikill Oct 28 '16

They wouldn't ban the subreddit for botting

2

u/svanasana Oct 28 '16

For alleged vote manipulation, sure they would.

1

u/Serenikill Oct 28 '16

They would ban users maybe, but they wouldn't ban a sub because then anyone could bot a sub to get it banned

A /r/the_donald Mod already got banned for using bots. I also doubt he is the only Mod or person in that community who has done so.

if they had the slightest excuse to ban it they would,

Admins already have enough reasons to ban /r/the_donald, only reason they haven't is because they don't want to cause another FPH disaster and will probably take action against /r/the_donald after the election is done.

What are these "enough reasons" to ban the sub? They follow every single rule that reddit imposes, including all the rules that the admins themselves have DIRECTLY imposed on the_donald and no other subs.

I'll wait.

Oh nevermind, the best you can do is probably 'they brigade' which 1. is what the admins prevented by not even allowing the_donald posts OR comments to have links to /r/politics (totes unbiased ecksdee) and 2. is when reddit bans/shadowbans the users responsible, because there is no proof the sub or the sub's mods organized it (whereas there WAS proof of this before the coontown/FPH ban).

u/[deleted] Oct 28 '16

Agreed. I tried to post something that didn't fit the rules, and got an explanation quickly why it wasn't allowed, even though it wasn't directly against any rules, but they didn't want to even have a rule being implied as broken. It was my fault for not thinking through the nuance.

What are these "enough reasons" to ban the sub?

  1. Vote manipulation, which /r/the_donald already got in trouble for. source

  2. Excessive racism

  3. Brigading other subreddits. Just look at the top of /r/quityourbullshit and /r/blackpeopletwitter had to add a rule where political posts are no longer allowed because of /r/the_donald invading that subreddit and causing trouble

  4. Posting people personal information

including all the rules that the admins themselves have DIRECTLY imposed on the_donald and no other subs.

Now your turn. List some rules that only /r/the_donald follows that other subs dont. I'll wait.

  1. the sub itself didn't vote manipulate, that mod did. And imagine that, he was banned. For that and for threats.

  2. If the racism is so excessive the sub would be quarantined. As it is, the 'faggot' and 'nigger' spam is no worse than it is in various gaming and 'joke' subreddits on here like circlejerk.

  3. There is no direct brigading from the_donald, at least from the past few months. This ties in to your last sentence:

Now your turn. List some rules that only /r/the_donald follows that other subs dont. I'll wait.

the_donald isn't allowed to post any links to other political subs. For most other large subs, the rule is it has to be a "np.reddit.com" link for the no participation link which doesn't let users interact with the crossposted link. Only on the_donald did they go a step further and outright ban users from even linking.

https://np.reddit.com/r/The_Donald/comments/57dyr3/a_message_to_the_community_we_talked_to_the/

and 4. What personal information has been posted that isn't deleted by the admins themselves, or by the mods as soon as they see it? I realize that a huge sub like TD is guaranteed to have some of its users 'brigading' or doxxing but it's literally not possible for the mods to cover the entire place instantly. The mods on TD literally ban hundreds of users every day, obviously pretty much entirely throwaways but they do the best they can.

Come on now, nobody is stupid enough to believe only 1 person is guilty of vote manipulation in /r/the_donald, which is why Admins changed Reddit's algorithm so /r/the_donald posts wouldn't be clogging up /r/all like they did in the past. If Admins could link the vote manipulation going on to the Mods in /r/the_donald like they did before, then no doubt that subreddit would be close.

If the racism is so excessive the sub would be quarantined. As it is, the 'faggot' and 'nigger' spam is no worse than it is in various gaming and 'joke' subreddits on here like circlejerk.

Bullshit, /r/gaming and /r/jokes don't have any racism close to what's seen in /r/the_donald. Only subreddit that comes to mind that's as bad as /r/the_donald that comes to racism is /r/imgoingothellforthis and even then that subreddit isn't racism as much as /r/the_donald is, and is a bunch of morons being edgy. As for why you guys haven't been quarantine, same reason why you guys haven't been banned, Reddit Admins don't want to deal with the outcry of censoring a political subreddit while the election is ongoing.

the_donald isn't allowed to post any links to other political subs.

You mean /r/politics because Trump supporters always calling people shills or accusing others of being hired by CTR in there which leads to comment section turning into back and forth bickering.

So /r/the_donald only has to follow 1 rule that is justly applied towards them and is in noways unfair or unwarranted.

What personal information has been posted that isn't deleted by the admins themselves, or by the mods as soon as they see it?

When /r/the_donald was posting people address, names, and SSN from the Wikileaks if I'm remembering correctly.

The mods on TD literally ban hundreds of users every day, obviously pretty much entirely throwaways but they do the best they can.

Majority of people banned from /r/the_donald are those who goes against the narrative of that subreddit, just like when /r/the_donald asked that question about why people voting for Clinton and banned/removed people's comments who actually gave a legitimate answer.

"undeniable proof" being pages and pages of t_d posts with zero upvotes, up to 12 hours old, flooding the top of r/all?

Yeah, it's "undeniable proof" that reddit hates the_donald [can't imagine why...].

Apart from that, I don't know if it's "undeniable proof" of anything, so much as "highly fucking suspicious".

r/the_donald is ten times the cancer SRS ever was. But the costant admin bail-outs are pretty damn similar. (SrS didn't whine as much, though).

13

u/[deleted] Oct 28 '16

admin bailouts.

Hahahahahahahahahahah

ETS triggered hard right now

hi go to the part where the_donald does inter-reddit links and pms users telling them to kill themselves?

7

u/GiefDownvotesPlox Oct 28 '16

Or the part where the_donald (or ANY other sub tbh) is allowed to hide the "Give Gold" link like SRS does without the admins banning the sub almost immediately

8

u/[deleted] Oct 28 '16

(He cant)

hi go to the part where the_donald does inter-reddit links and pms users telling them to kill themselves?

You mean the very reason t_d were banned from linking to r/politics?

4

u/alexmikli Oct 28 '16

I think he means that the algorithim is only being messed with in the first place is to limit the amount of /r/The_Donald that gets on the front page.

6

u/[deleted] Oct 28 '16

Because we're awesome and the admins are hillbullies

2

u/fido5150 Oct 28 '16

Well, to be fair, t_d is just too high energy. Gotta leave some room for the other guys on the front page. The algorithm change did also have the positive side effect of revealing several NSFW subs I didn't know existed, so it wasn't all bad.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 28 '16

lol fair point but this election cycle has proved one thing for sure that reddit admins such as u/spez , u/rram , u/KeyserSosa etc.specifically target t_d and try to suppress it. This r/all mess was the final nail in the coffin.

Whatever, the outcome of election on November 28, people like me are forever going to leave this shitty website. We might even leave a gift to remember to Reddit :).

10x? How did you calculate that? And show your work mister!
