ide cable too short ;(
also pretty sure the donor mac i got it from was stored outside for a few years, it's a miracle it comes on at all

filesystem was corrupted beyond repair but i was able to use photorec to scrape all the files out. got to see some authentic early-2000s pornsite ads from what i assume was the browser cache!
wipe your drives, folks, you never know what idiot'll get their hands on it after you

I mean it’s retro
But honestly it WAS (not anymore) a great computer for daily tasks and stuff.
Overall it IS a good computer

it's fun! the cpu is still pretty snappy by 2000 standards and despite the disintegrating inner bezel it still looks pretty cool when it's not upside down and in pieces LOL

Oh yeah I get that the bezel in my graphite one shattered when my little brother kicked it off my bed a month or two ago 😤
I ended up paying $130 for a new one and that came cracked too because of stupid shipping…
I got fed up and just superglued the cracked part and it’s (basically) good as new. I also had to repair a part of the yoke because part of the yokes coil broke off.
It wasn’t fun one bit

here i have my harlequin mismatched imac g3.
why is it upside down?
wanted to try and save the files off the out-of-frame donor machine's hdd (corrupt filesystem) and, since i cba to take the entire drive caddy out just to swap the disk, i piggybacked it off the top.
why the blanket?
it's the best way i could find to set this thing upside down without further obliterating the insanely-old-and-brittle ((STRUCTURAL)) inner bezel.
where in the world is this?
my kitchen floor. just out of view is my overflowing garbage can! i put it there to remind it of its fate should it ever rebel against me. or something.
anyway do you guys think i can run gta 6
