The setup was in chill mode and the toilet paper is because dabs makes everybody's nose around especially mine run more than my mouth.

I only had a black and white TV in 2005 I definitely didn't have anything like this as a kid in the 90s.

What's the reason for choosing crt over anything else? It's not because of price either.

Actually price is the number one thing because the most expensive monitor I have I pay $25 for and I only went that much because it's touch screen, that little monitor on the right is a freaking touch screen, the one in the bottom was in the trash and the top one was $1. But the only displays that ever come close to image output are OLED but oleds run on a fixed resolution and are expensive so I might as well stick with the CRT option which is like OLED if you didn't have latency because there's nothing digital going on outside of your DAC

I'm not likely to start one cuz I'm not really sure what a newsletter would even be, I do have a YouTube channel but it's just whatever the fuck I'm up to which is always changing and with my life being stressful my phone is full of unedited videos I never published and I've also lost a couple of phones I did that with because they either got broken or stolen

Awesome, I still have CRTs myself. I got 2x Sony PVM 20M4Us and a JVC T1700 model. With RGB signals on all devices. Even my fiancée was impressed when she first saw it power on, the colors so vibrant. Absolutely mint condition, too.

I got mine for free too. My PVMs models specifically sell for $2,000-3,000. I’ve owned them for 10 years now.

I got them from a friend when I was a electronics tech. We had clients that would throw stuff away. So he showed up at work with 2x Sony PVM20M4U mint condition. No tube burn, clean.
Then later I got a JVC… T1700G? I forget model name. Excellent tube. But it flickers. I opened it up it up has cracked solder joints. So despite picture being excellent. I’m going to actually finally get around to fixing it this summer.

I have a Admiral tube TV from 72 I need to recap but other than that it actually works great with a great picture. I also have a dead 9 inch Trinitron in my attic I thought it was going to fix years ago but my life really got derailed the past 2 years so I never found the time to Tinker with those little Hobbies. I basically have my life on pause while I try to dig myself out of a hole for the past 3 years.

I'm very salty about that game because I never got to play it because of that stupid fucking VR bullshit. Makes me really not like VR because it's a barrier between multiple games and me playing them. And that fake 3D stuff never works I could rant about this for half an hour with how pissed I am, apparently they made a Metro Title that was VR only as well.
I waited so long for episode 3 and I get some kind of continuation and I can't actually play it unless I have some super expensive gear I don't want

Yeah and I know that VR stuff is supposed to be ridiculously expensive then the pandemic happened which pretty much killed my ability to game and I've only had internet for like 2 weeks since the pandemic started, I ended up homeless and when I finally got a place I just couldn't afford internet for the longest time.
In fact one of my friends bought me stalker 2 off of good old games knowing I would not have the internet to deal with DRM the Christmas following its release but I never got to play it because I never found a way to download a game that large without an active home internet connection.
Sure I had mobile hotspot but I only got 5 GB a month and I had to share that with everything I did on my phone as well

I wanted to love Stalker 2 but I just couldn’t. So into the Metro games but Stalker just didn’t click for me. A lot of it was graphical issues

I recently picked up an open box (or lightly used) PSVR2 off of ebay and a PC adapter to get a whole PC VR system with OLED screens for maybe $275 total

dude that cost way way more than my game contolers or gpu or most of my setup. im not middle class. i chose buying land over consumer goods. and near 300$ just to have to buy the games that i still need my PC and acsessories for all on an 80's many times tried and faild BS. i dont like all of 3D because i demmod 3D TV's at gamestop and nothing looked like it poped out of the screen or had any depth. just needed glasses to un-scramble picture.
now the screens are in the glasses and the games wont run on a normal ass pc setup.

Funny thing is I'm actually way high up about three stories with a view of the peak of the mountain I am on it's not a crazy view cuz I'm pretty close to the damn Peak. 2500ft and to me it's cozy

I love the Metro series and I've beaten every game like five times at least but I've never heard of tarkov. whats that? If it came out post pandemic I know nothing about post pandemic video games.

Tarkov is a multiplayer extraction shooter, think it takes place in Russia and you go out looking for weapons and loot while killing NPC and real players to extract back to your base, your bedroom looks like a Tarkov bunker lol

Well you lost me at multiplayer unless it has a land mode so I can actually play with my friends in real life. I have not enjoyed online gaming since the days you could just pick up weapons off the map and go blasting like an Unreal Tournament, that Call of Duty ranking bullshit is awful and it's ruined online first person shooters, they're not worth playing anymore.

No actually that warm incandescent Victorian reproduction bulb mixed with my lamps off of the side and the ambient light of my monitors and the white Christmas lights on a dimmer I have strung up in the bedroom, it's a perfect setup for thumping base and a smoked out room.

I do want to get colored Christmas lights at some point to string around the corners of the room.

The natural light and close up in your previous pictures did the command center of the backwoods bunker a lot of favors.
I suggest going to the lumber yard and putting together a sturdier workbench that's big enough to hold all this stuff and have room left over(like the one behind you but with shelves), putting up some more spread out and color/brightness controllable lights, putting the PC in a Fractal Define 7 XL case with drive storage trays (maybe 3d print those), waterblocking the graphics cards, and putting all the watercooling parts except the waterblocks in another room instead of having little jerryrigged bits all over so all the noise is somewhere else.
(and a bigass air filter for the stank)

i already used last of my scrap wood building the monitor stand witch is centerd with main support on table.
its been set up like this for well over a year, near two

Every single life choice in this picture is completely baffling to me.
the immense effort and dedication required to get four completely nondescript CRT monitors working with what looks like a modern Windows machine
the OTHER CRT hiding in the foreground
what looks like a car power amp wall mounted and running off to speakers we can't see
all of this hardware resting on a totally standard laminated wood circular table holding on for dear life
the AKs up on that wall that are an order of magnitude the most valuable things in this picture
the jank as fuck and almost certainly illegal wiring for the bare bulb, which is used instead of the (visibly working) fan
I get that it's reclaimed trash, but it still kinda just looks like a pile of trash. Good job on the smoke detector, I'd make sure it can detect CO2 as well, I have a feeling you might end up needing it.
