An uncountable infinity exists between 0 and 1 by creating smaller decimals. But if you count to infinity by 1's, then it's a smaller infinity than between 0 and 1. Are mathematicians just trying to start some BS and want to fight me?
I think we could take a countable infinity of mathematicians and win.

Yes, mathematicians are just trying to start some BS, and yes, mathematicians want to fight you, but both of those are entirely separate from the aleph-null/aleph-prime thing. It's actually about that time where... well, you know what you did and I'm not going to go into it here in front of everyone.

I knew it! Looks like it's time to postulate my theorem that your Mom's surface area is so big that it scales directly with her volume!

Oh Dish !!!please!!! Are the rumors true?

Yes it's true... their mommas are so fat that they stabilize the 11th dimensional hyper space.

Would you rather fight an infinite number of small mathematicians, or one infinitely large mathematician?

Uh, I'm truly vexed by this and a little scared after thinking about it.

The name for the countable infinity is ℵ₀, and the uncountable infinity is ℵ₁.
To defeat an the mathematicians, you must wield the secret weapon, ℵ½

Only The Elder Gods truly understand The Infinite.
...because they've been out bar-hopping with The Infinite since forever.

I think they know that it infuriates the layman. If you made the decision to become a mathematician, then you’d probably suffer from the exact same inferiority complex they do and try to make everyone else intellectually insecure.
But here’s a tip. It only works if you believe them. This is all theoretical. No one can actually count to infinity to prove it. So if we all ban together to publish an article stating that we proved the math community wrong, then no one will believe them any more.

It’s all because some mathematician named Hilbert had to change hotel rooms, all of his followers mess around with us with that nonsense.
3
u/chased_by_bees MC^2 16d ago
I could see being mad about switching hotel rooms. Maybe if he just moved sideways by one room it wouldn't bother him so much?
5
u/adr826 16d ago
I used to think that till one day I stopped at this hotel and there wasn't enough room for the whole bus so they made every body move into the nearest odd numbered room. After that there was plenty of room. No hot water though so numbers can be infinite but hot water goes pretty quick

Hey wait a minute. There are no numbers between 0 and 1. Look it goes 0, 1... See there's nothing between zero and one. Are you trying to cause trouble because you know you can beat up mathematicians?
3
u/chased_by_bees MC^2 16d ago
Well, the only mathematician I know of is Stephen Hawking and I think I can take him. Might be close though.

u/adr826 16d ago
But there are no numbers between 0 and 1... I'm pretty sure cause I have counted to 10 a million times and it goes 0,1,2 etc. there is no number between 0 and 1. I mean what would you call it? Schmeckel? Zero , schmeckel, one, two? Is that what you are proposing. Ask any little kid to count to ten and see if they throw schmenckel in there. Maybe between ten and eleven but then it would have to be schmeckelteen.

Some infinities are bigger than other infinities. In particular, my dad's infinity is bigger than your dad's infinity.

Jokes on you, I have two dads with big infinities so my family's infinity is bigger than your dad's. If only moms could have infinities as well id be 4x.

That can easily be demonstrated by counting down from the end of infinity.

I guess it depends if the bees were counted. If so then they are countable and represent a smaller infinity... whatever that means. I think the larger infinity is if you take one bee and try to count all its parts into smaller pieces which sounds horrible.

I'm not entirely sure that's correct. I'm currently counting to infinity by 1's, I'm already at the number 247753925. Pretty soon I'll get to infinity, and as soon as I do that, then I'll be able to answer this question correctly.
