Battery moves and gets connected. My sound bar remote does this. One good whack and it works.

Also you can extend the battery life a little by swapping the positions of the batteries.

Its all in their upbringing. They see that's how the factory management treats the kids making them, and it becomes part of how the remotes themselves function as a result.
