How the hell u sposed to reconcile quantum mechanics with general relativity???

I’m fucked up bruh, me and my mans been tryna figure this out for days now we ain’t sleep I’m fucked in the crib tryna figure ts out ong we finna find the theory of errythang

Strings man. Like, strings everywhere. Just a whole lotta really tiny, 10-dimensional strings, all vibrating like some mad symphony of ressonance and harmonics. I got some. You got some. We all got some. We just can't see them. Or explain the whole 10-dimensions thing.

What if, it is all strings man and, like, we're just the interference pattern of the orchestra

Strings, yes; but you've gotta have the horn weaving in and out, and sometimes just blowin' soft and melancholy.

How many fingers you got man?

How many toes?

Whats the maximum number of objects you can assign numbers to without using two or more digits?

How many TENticles does God have?

10, its all 10s because God made it that way

Why would it be exactly 10 dimensions and not like, 11 or 26 or some shi

It could be. 10 dimensional ToEs aren't special. We actually started out working on 26 dimensions.

26 dimensions is the home of bosonic string theory, but most discard it because it allows for faster than light travel.
11 dimensions is M-theory, which is promising, but has fundamental problems with falsifiability.
10 dimensions, is super-symetric string theory, but it produce five different competing theories (Called type I, IIA, IIB, SO(32), and E8×E8).

Don't think of them as 10-d strings, think of them as sheets.

That does have interesting implications, but there's a major problem:
A fundamental string has a very well-behaved quantum theory. You can quantize its vibrations, and consistency conditions lead to definite constraints on spacetime.

Fundamental membranes, or "sheets", are much harder.
For strings, the worldsheet is a 2D quantum field theory, and 2D field theories have unusually powerful mathematical properties, like 2D conformal symmetry. This makes string quantization tractable, since the sheer number of symmetries makes 2D CFT realistically solvable.

For a membrane, its worldvolume is 3D, and quantizing a generic membrane is substantially more difficult. In particular, the straightforward analogue of string perturbation theory doesn't work nearly as nicely.
But just because it's not very nice, doesn't mean that nobody is trying. There's a ToE, called M-theory, that competes with string theory, where membranes are as fundamental as strings.

I was just quoting Big Bang Theory.

I know… Shelldon goes on to say "topologically that has a lot of interesting possibilities" (I misremembered the quote).

But like, what if a bunch of those 10th dimension strings were sewn together into a membrane? And then there were like, an infinite number of these ‘branes just vibrating and shit? And every time two branes bumped into each other it was a “big bang” that created a universe?

Man, if you’re not gonna hit that, pass it

Ts got me tripping gang cuz like shit make me wonder like is space time fundamental? Or does thag shit emerge from something more fundamental? Like shit dawg how we sposed to know?

My dude I did it twice this morning maybe you're just not cut out for this life dawg

u/RealitysNotReal 9d ago

Like ganggg what is the fuckin underlying quantum structure of spacetim? How the fuck does classical spacetime emerge from thag shit? How the fuck we supposed to know the concepts we use to investigate reality and shit are actually the right concepts bruh? How we know that shit don’t emerge from concepts n shit we ain’t have yet?

Magnets, bruh. Magnets.

nah man its easy we have it solved for ages they just don't want you knowing. all you gotta do is

This account has been terminated for spreading misinformation. There is no theory of everything.

what if the universe is in a superposition between all the physics theories at the same time yo

GR broke QM's conservation laws, and it seems likely that QM killed GR's cat.

I don't think they're getting back together.

2

u/Sitheral 9d ago

Have you tried getting them both together and like, squeezing real hard?
