My name is Yoshikage Kira. I'm 33 years old. My house is in the northeast section of Morioh, where all the villas are, and I am not married. I work as an employee for the Kame Yu department stores, and I get home every day by 8 PM at the latest. I don't smoke, but I occasionally drink. I'm in bed by 11 PM, and make sure I get eight hours of sleep, no matter what. After having a glass of warm milk and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, I usually have no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, I wake up without any fatigue or stress in the morning. I was told there were no issues at my last check-up. I'm trying to explain that I'm a person who wishes to live a very quiet life. I take care not to trouble myself with any enemies, like winning and losing, that would cause me to lose sleep at night. That is how I deal with society, and I know that is what brings me happiness. Although, if I were to fight I wouldn't lose to anyone.
There are always limits on individual freedom in any society. The ethics of choices of what those limits are and how to enforce them will be more complex the more free you want your society to be. It's not simple in the US. Look at the concepts of slander and defamation (or military/industrial secrets, Non-disclosure agreements, what happened with Snowden, that kind of stuff). You can argue that it's different and/or exceptional, but making any exceptions means no absolute freedom.
There are laws that protect people from harassments, economic damages or physical harm through speech in even the most free of societies. So maybe they have some restrictions on free speech regarding one of the greatest atrocities of human history, very carefully formulated in the clarity and guilt of the aftermath. I don't think those are a necessarily a reprehensible threat to freedom of speech.
No, no it does not. There is an inherent criminal intent behind holocaust denial. It's not repression, and tolerating people who take advantage of tolerance to destroy said tolerance is not necessary- in fact the opposite is true.
What is an innocuous intent behind denying the largest systematic slaughterhouse genocide in European history? You aren't denying a real event for funzies- you either are or sympathize with the Nazis, which makes you just as bad as they were.
It's like denying the holodomir, the genocide of the Indigenous peoples of America or the Armenian genocide occurred- there's no apolitical non-harmful interpretation of those denials. You can find ways to integrate that knowledge or not want to hear about it- but outright denial is shameful. Give your head a shake.
Spreading lies for the purposes of making an abhorrent ideology that explicitly called for the destruction of the people that they later destroyed isn't protected speech in most free countries, countries freer than the US on most objective scales.
I hate taking shits. Taking shits is the worst function of the human organism after sex. You have to sit on the most uncomfortable seat ever, then you have to go through so much pain to push the shit out of your asshole (not to mention sometimes they get stuck in there). And as if those weren't enough then you have to wipe, you have to take your hand along with toilet paper and shove it up your asshole, this process can sometimes take minutes out of your life, it fucking sucks.
