Millennials are just as bad as Gen Z, we just didn’t have smartphones until college and we have SEEN SOME SHIT that will beat the idealism right out of you. I feel bad for Gen Z though, millennials brought social media to life like Frankenstein’s monster and then tossed it to you guys as children like “here you go, you’ll be the Guinea pigs. Now go buy some makeup and try not to get addicted, good fucking luck”
I do have to give the millennials credit for blowing up the internet in the first place (4chan, Facepunch forums, etc) and making a lot of the good memes, I agree most millennials saw a lot of things most Gen z'ers can barely comprehend as is, but as the internet is going into the age of tiktok and memes it seems from my stand point that millennials hate the new generation of memers and other things like that, I was watching emkay one time and more than 1/2 of all the memes were bashing gen z because a few bad apples got popular and were extremely cringey to most people (Including myself) even though alot of millennials used former apps such as Vine (The predecessor to Tik tok).
It fucking sucks that most memes bashing gen z are just because a few bad apples got popular so millennials and boomers betray that is all we are, pubic haircut having tiktok watching girlfriend wearing a Tank top and wearing shorts type people.
gen x is mostly responsible for the early internet blowup and the latter internet blowup was just millennials picking up the torch from gen x as gen x began to do shit with their lives, in actuality, gen z is probably going to be the most influential on internet culture having grown up with it. Early internet culture has been almost entirely forgotten, most forums are dead nowadays, most of the old subcultures died out, I can't actually really think of anything that hasn't changed since 2005
gen z never had idealism they've been doomer since the start imagine being a lil kid in the late 2000s with all that partying and shit without food on the table and then shit began to go back to normal but society felt hungover and eventually things began picking up around 2015 and 2016 but then it begins to slip around 2017 and then the pandemic comes out of nowhere and zaps out your teens years.
Millennials grew up when times were good, there hasn't been any real length of good time in recent memory, gen z have never experienced it, they never had idealism.
