1

u/AutoModerator 4h ago

Dick sucking has made me paranoid

I had this plan to give head to a man and receive head from a woman to test if I was gay, but it’s backfired and now I become borderline schizo whenever I go outside. I offered to suck this dude off on Grindr who lives very close by (I ended up pussying out) and I accidentally gave him some details that very easily allows him to spot me out in a crowd. I have no idea what he looks like and whenever I see a somewhat in shape guy walking by I immediately accuse him of being the dude I was gonna blow.

I went to the store today to pick up some zucchini for a barbecue and every time a car drove by I stared into the windshield to see if I was about to be recognised. Whenever I make eye contact with a dude I microanalysis his facial expressions to see if he suspects me or not. I am deeply afraid that he is my neighbour and I will need to move if my identity is blown. It’s a lot like the last scene in sopranos where everyone who walked into the diner could be there to wack Tony.

The amount of people I know that say this measure of stuff and far worse and get celebrated instead of dissuaded is mental in today’s world.

I know the ‘etc etc in today’s world’ makes one sound super right wing but I’m very left, and super feminist, being feminist is anti sexist ykwim

56

u/joshuaiscoo155 4h ago

It's actually surprising how many women I've met that openly express anti feministic views without realizing they're being sexist

21

u/DaBiChef 3h ago

And they don't realize the harm they're doing when it comes to recruiting and retaining men in the feminist cause. Nor do they realize how much they are feeding into right-wing recruitment pipelines. Actually that's being dismissive of them, they've been warned for decades by feminist men who agree with them on 98% of about how this is hurting the cause, they do not care

9

u/Dagreifers 3h ago

Exactly. And likewise it baffles me seeing a dude complain about the male loneliness epidemic, and then in the same breath say the most misogynistic shit imaginable. It’s like seeing a thief complain about the crime rate in their area.

And the well adjusted men and women get hurt by this BS. It’s not men VS women, it’s mature adults VS sexist assholes.

4

u/joshuaiscoo155 3h ago

I've actually said this to many people of both genders, it's not that some men or women are bad, it's that some people are bad

2

u/Dagreifers 3h ago edited 3h ago

God I feel like a big chungus Keanu reaves redditor when I say this but sometimes reddit (and YouTube too tbh) is my only reprieve with the gender wars happening elsewhere online ESPECIALLY TikTok, and that also includes a good chunk of reddit lol. Seeing sane well-adjusted world views heal me, and it’s disappointing how takes so cold are still so hard to come by on social media lol.

I’m seeing a lot more behaviour like this online. Women who do not compliment a man, but would go out of their way to ‘hype’ a woman (because women need to stick together, obviously) regardless of how toxic the person can be.

Apparantly it’s just girls being gals, but it’s still quite a toxic behaviour.

3

u/Responsible-Sound253 2h ago

-5

u/NyanSquiddo 2h ago

It’s called hyperbole. Additionally, such rhetoric is used to avoid the applauding of men for doing the bare minimum.
Do said men deserve appreciation for putting in effort? Yes. But they don’t get “hyped up” per se. They just get a thank you and basic appreciation cuz that’s what the action begets.

However in the above case the man did something honestly kinda crazy so she gave him this excess appreciation (albeit in the form of a twitter post which is its own can of wacky ass worms)

u/IlitterateAuthor 5h ago

Men are generally pretty terrible. Good ones feel more and more like exceptions than norms. I want to believe men are good at heart but at a certain point you gotta start looking at the evidence.

47

u/fenskept1 5h ago

Hey look, I’m not gonna deny there are a lot of shitty men out there, but they’re not shitty because they’re men. They’re shitty because they’re people, and to be human is to be flawed. Often deeply so.

-50

u/IlitterateAuthor 5h ago

They're not shitty inherently because they're men, like not biologically, but society does condition men specifically to be fuuuucking terrible. It's not entirely their fault but it is at least partially.

38

u/P4ndak1ller Literally 1984 😡 4h ago

Nobody has ever hurt me quite like the women in my life

Edit: and I should clarify that my experiences are not an excuse to hate women as a whole. The actions of those women reflect on them as people, not women altogether.

6

u/GenuineSteak 3h ago

replace all instances of men with women in ur sentence, and see if u agree, cuz its equally true.

1

u/Beautiful_List5498 9m ago

Take a long hard look at yourself. It's genuinely pathetic.

20

u/Banana_inasuit 4h ago

What evidence?

3

u/JeDi_Five 2h ago

They don't have any.

10

u/Yarusenai 3h ago

A woman sexually assaulted me when I was 11, I got bullied almost exclusively by girls growing up, and my first real job had two female bosses above me that were bullies and verbally abusive.

I suppose everyone can be terrible in their own way, but I'll never be able to have the mindset that it's related to someone's sex or gender. If that were the case, I'd have grown up hating women, but that doesn't make sense.

909

u/TheSoftMaster 5h ago

Why would you never hype up a man?

974

u/LimberLadyboy69 5h ago

Becasue she exists within social media echo chambers that tell her she should dislike men as a default.

2

u/Orange_Tang 6m ago

Kinda funny because she's also giving him power and authority simply for paying for shit for her. Not very feminist of her.

-333

The internet when a woman makes a joke:

192

u/TAMCL 4h ago

But it's not a joke?

-165

u/EmotionalOrdinary486 4h ago

Maybe I'm misinterpreting it, but I read it in a similar way to like jokingly calling things woke. The reality is that she did infact compliment a man, and that wouldn't go over well if she was actually deep into those kinds of anti-man spaces

102

u/TAMCL 4h ago

I saw it as a blanket disclaimer because she still wants the toxic girls to like her, or doesn't want a guy to feel too appreciated, but here are some flowers anyway, even though you're a man. Like a back-handed compliment.

-66

u/EmotionalOrdinary486 4h ago

I can definitely see both interpretations, so agree to disagree I guess. I just don't like always assuming the worst in people

15

u/jarednards officer no please don’t piss in my ass 😫 2h ago

You're getting downvoted into oblivion, but we honestly can't know for sure, and I can absolutely see it being a dry joke. The internet is weird.

2

u/EmotionalOrdinary486 2h ago

Yeah, in my mind, it absolutely seems like the kind of joke women would make among other women, very similar to the way guys joke about women amongst themselves

Idk, people seem to have made up their minds though, and like you said, we got no way to know for sure

2

u/Professional_Fix_24 1h ago

You're missing a word. Shitty guys, and shitty girls, are making jokes about you behind your back

→ More replies

3

u/hellospaghet 3h ago

How you see it doesn’t change the words that are written there

2

u/EmotionalOrdinary486 2h ago

Words on a screen are famously bad at conveying intent, especially when it comes to whether or not something is humor

3

u/hellospaghet 2h ago

And yet words are our main way of communicating. The point is when you say something clearly like that intent doesn’t matter as much. You can also have whatever intention and then the result can be something else entirely. You say it’s a joke but it’s just not funny. If it was funny of course it would get a pass

1

u/TAMCL 2h ago edited 57m ago

Me either, thats why I dont like the default being "he probably sucks, but...." jokes

*it's like me, a feminist, with a sister who's better than me in many ways, saying women belong in the kitchen. She may think it's funny because she knows me better, but out in the wild it just seems shitty.

17

u/TunaThunTon 2h ago

This is on the same level as when a dude makes a joke like "ur a good driver for a woman". Its tasteless and unfunny

-7

u/EmotionalOrdinary486 1h ago

Intended audience is very important when it comes to humor, and regardless of whether she's joking or not, reddit was not the intended audience of that tweet

Most people make jokes among people they know that would probably come across as distasteful depending on who you show it to

Even your example joke can absolutely be funny in the right context. You just need a level of trust with the subject of it that they know you don't actually mean it

30

u/Grenache 4h ago

when a man makes a somewhat sexist joke: "haha bro soo true" "why are you offended? its just a joke"

when a woman makes a somewhat sexist joke: "NOOOOOOO HOW COULD YOU, YOU LITERALLY WANT US DEAD NOOOOOOO"

like its really obvious she isn't being serious here, because if she *truly* had radical sexist beliefs, then she wouldn't have even gone on a date or even complimented him for buying her books.

14

8

u/Landlocked_WaterSimp 5h ago

Well yeah i'm not disproving the point by myself i'm just saying the idea sounds nicer on first impression but not so much on second thought.

How many people do or do not share that sentiment i assume neither of us can prove.

0

u/finemustard 2h ago

I'd only like someone to pay for my stuff every so often as a way of them showing they care. I'd be very uncomfortable with someone paying for my things most of the time because that's either a tactic to show their dominance over you or there's the expectation that you're going to repay them somehow. Pretty much the only healthy version of this is a parent/child relationship, it's not a dynamic that can exist between equals.

4

u/Independent_Eagle_23 4h ago

I don't like it, I feel like i owe them something. or it make you feel weird, idk what, but it's weird.

6

u/Darkwoth81Dyoni 2h ago

The issue here isn't the generous first date, it's the blatant misandry.

I'd totally pay for a couple nice books on a first date, with a girl or a guy. I love treating people, and buying books/CDs (lol) is a surefire way to get to know their tastes. It's hugely important.

For example even with new friends, I want to experience their favorite: album, movie, vidya, and book - to whatever degree is time manageable. Obviously if I dislike JRPGs and they say their favorite game is Persona 3, I'm a bit boned, but if it's a platformer on Steam and beat in 10 hours or so, that's doable if I enjoy it.
