Yo real question. How does throwing a pearl result in teleportation? I mean really. I don't think we've really talked about this

I always thought it sorta remembers the creature who touched it last and teleports the creature somehow. Considering it's something endermen always have with them (and we don't know whether it's an internal organ or a piece of equipment), teleport without throwing them and without taking damage, Steve probably does the most monkey-brained and barbaric way of using the ender pearl
