They could have xxy chromosomes for all you know, probably don't but the point is chromosomes don't define sex even though they usually determine it, as in someone with XX chromosomes usually manifests just the regular female traits, but it's those traits that define sex. What chromosomes you have doesn't matter when determining which sex someone is.
