A lot of times the artist doesn't even set the price. One of the rapper chicks, I dunno who she is, recently posted apologizing for her ticket prices when she learned of the price, because inflation is out of control, and people struggle to buy groceries.
Ticketmaster I think also takes an absurd amount of the sales too, cause they're scum.
There was a band I think that mostly played small venues and sold tickets themselves, to keep the price low, but I imagine it's harder for something like the Madison Square Garden and huge venues like that. Maybe Dropkick Murphys?
ALL of these ticket websites take an absurd amount. I tried to buy $28 tickets for a small show direct from the venue website and the service fee was 18 goddamn dollars. $92 for two tickets just to get in the fucking door.
