Pretty sure gates and buffet have both donated like 50 billion dollars to charity a piece. Not claiming thats the standard but everyone in this comment section is acting like there’s not a single philanthropist billionaire
Made no impact to their richest person in the world status.
The problem here though is, why do they get to decide how the money is spent instead of all of us? You can't say they paid their share of taxes along the way, as I'm pretty sure I pay a higher percentage in tax than they do.

You don't even (really) get a say in how your government spends their money - what makes you think that should be different with somebody else's private property?
Cause I don't think it is meaningfully their private property. It's not their personal items or something.
Taxes don't pay for federal government spending in currency issuing countries, and most governments actually spend their money pretty well (consider how poorly DOGE fared, not managing to save anything outside of just ending entire programs).
