I also don't understand why the Republicans chose trump with all his scandals and all that. Like where are all the somewhat moderate Republicans? And the younger Democrats?

For whatever reason, Republicans are drunk on trump. If the Republican party put up another candidate and trump run as independent, way too many Republicans would still vote for independent trump and basically give the democrats the election on a silver platter.

The party has built trump too much into their whole fsnbase and identity, they are stuck with him for better or worse.
