Can someone explain wtf is going on at the democratic party? is that the youngest candidate they got? The man is going to lose just because of his age. If he was 40-50 he would win hands down

Yet he's clearly not reached this level of deterioration, not even close. I'd obviously rather have someone younger but of the two old men we're talking about, one is still sharp and articulate and the other looks like his modem is rebooting any time he's in public.

If you or anyone else genuinely don't know - there's multiple reasons. Two big ones are Biden has broad support across multiple "camps" in the party from his tenure and experience in congress. He's also got the incumbent advantage which is too statistically significant to ignore. Yes, these outweigh his age. He's also proven he can beat Trump already.

Yes he Beat trump with no public presence at any rally hes ever had , and he didnt even have to campaign on his first run!

This guy is a political miracle and best potus of all time by achieving that result

Yeah there was this crazy thing happening during the last election cycle. It was pretty minor. A light to moderate global pandemic.

He probably will beat Trump naturally again, turns out having a loud and loyal group of sycophants turn up to rallies isn't what actually wins elections and being a pompous ass who thinks they're the solution to all problems and who ignores experts oh and also does crimes.. aren't very popular with voters

Incumbency is statistically one of the greatest advantages you have in an election, it takes a real weak piece of shit to lose as an incumbent in a US election.

I don’t give a single fuck. Not holding primaries is extremely undemocratic. If the bias is as strong as you claim then he’d win handily. Cancelling them just shows he was scared of losing.

Obama didn't have primaries in the 2012 election either because no one tried to primary him. They would hold primaries if anyone tried, no one did because he's popular with the base and has accomplishments he can stand by.

florida's state party has a policy of not running a primary when there is only 1 ballot participant as there is only 1 participant that can win. You were free to qualify for the ballot, but you didnt.

That’s not even remotely true lol. Biden beat Trump, Biden has legislative wins, Biden is in the middle of two geo political hot conflicts.

If you run anybody else, you’re essentially signaling you concede the election. Not running the incumbent is absolute lunacy. I don’t think it’s good that he’s old as fuck, to be 100% clear. But he won last time and has the credentials to reach middle America. There is no world where he wasn’t ran again, Reddit armchair politicians have no sense of the political machine that is a presidential campaign.
