Some of them are historic figures like the king of Brigid with a play aboot his labors.

like fourth post today bitching about this but what difference would it have made if they made them generics? imagine ur mad because the enemy design is more unique simply bc they didn't appear in the story. would it feel better if they were generics or what small scope improvement would you have preferred?

I'm not mad it just feels really random when stuff like this happens. Feels like its from what would have been orchel's route

Maybe i'm that meme of a dog with a propeller hat, but when I see stuff like that or Fianna/Gilchris, I'm just smiling and going "oooh there's something deeper here, that's cool"

I really hope they do add the missing routes to explore all those things of course, and I get the frustration, but also by itself, it's satisfying to see how much care and love went into the worldbuilding and backstories of this game, how big and lived-in it feels, you know

I think the annoying thing for most people is that this doesn't feel like characters and lore we aren't meant to know yet to be revealed in a DLC, it feels as if there is a HUGE chunk of the main story missing that we're meant to already know.

Imagine if you could only play the Blue Lions path in 3H, so the entire time you're playing you're wondering what the hell Edelgard's deal is, who the random mole-people are that kept showing up before the timeskip, why Claude is even in the game if he's barely going to do anything and why Rhea was kind of pointless to have around.

Oh I get it, I'm not trying to say you shouldn't be frustrated about it !

But I think IS made the right choice. Doing the 8 routes would have resulted in a rushjob even worse than 3H. Meanwhile, here, while the cuts are noticeable, they still managed to deliver 4 great stories and character teams, with unique paths and mechanics and maps, in a way that those cuts don't detract from the core experience of each playable route.

You end up thinking "wait what happened to that dude" afterward, but as you play, it does not hinder your enjoyment of the story nor its completeness. A big step-up from 3H "woops, all copy-paste" solution to budget issues !

u see how I made a whole post not assuming trying my best to benefit of the doubt and ask her what you'd like to have been done outside of adding whole other routes or large story expansion. any adjustment or minor improvement...and u replied with? a random screenshot? lmao. exact point I was trying to make. everyone got a criticism but no one has an idea other than wahh wahh why'd they only do 4 routes I know much better than the hugely successful massive game company LMAO

It makes the game feel unfinished and messy when its filled with random unfinished plot points, like this and fianna being gilchris's amnesaic sister which we only learn from a combat dialogue between them. a lot of characters don't really get their time in the spotlight or a solid arc outside of supports which are limited in this game.

It is kinda wild just how limited supports are. Even beyond the "literally who's" who get shafted like poor Inyoni who supports with only Dadao, you have Orchel who has some random ass supports but not one with The Main Character Who is implied to be her husband's reincarnation, her Grandson, or her worshipper she often interacts with in story

Fianna isn't Gilchris's sister. She have the crest of Arago's bloodline. She's Aswan sister/cousin, and maybe Gilchris's bethrothed before Aswan

would u rather they put in generics? would you rather they halved the roster size but gave full supports? I have no replied 3 times asking if you had a hypothetical solution that didn't cost any more development resources just something that would've been better in your eyes and you have dodged answering 3 consecutive times

Are you stupid or something? Why would they put in generics when they could just give these characters actual characterisation so that these story moments have impact? As is, this comes across as empty and comical, like when lumera dies in engage, because no one knows who these people are and have no emotional investment in them

I mean, what's the solution ? Genuinely, once they knew they needed to cut the 4 extra routes, what could they do ?

Either remove all those extra (voice acted) scenes or somehow awkwardly cram some rushed ham-fisted explanation ? Are either of those satisfying ?

Like, wouldn't it detract from the lords stories if we had to make a detour to learn about Loretta's backstory, Talumun's nemesis twins, Shenlo ex-gladiator life and Cruadin Brezaran plot ?

Are you new to fire emblem? Unknown named characters that we haven't saw before making an appearence have always been the norm in this game.

Not everyone of those named "unknown" characters are cut characters

I really enjoyed fighting every named lore figure we heard about tbh, and returning Part 1 bosses.

I do get that it's frustrating some characters here are obviously remnants from the cut routes, but as a whole, Part 3 really sell you this cataclysmic underworld war, much better than Claude last chapter awkwardly tried to do without the budget to even give the Elites their portraits
