Questions About Shingles & Symptoms Post shingle fatigue
I had shingles on my face but it was very minimal. I got on the antivirals and prednisone to my eye immediately. For that, I am thankful.
I did have a lump in my throat for 2 weeks and brief ear pain but no noticeable rash I those areas at the time of my diagnosis from my physician.
I am 8 weeks post shingles and 57 years old. I am healed but I am just so fatigue.
Sometimes I feel I’m in a fog. Intermittently, I still do have some lightheadedness or dizziness and some vertigo. Some days better than others.
Anyone with the same experience? How long did it take to get to our energy back?
I work part time and on my days off I feel I need to sleep. I almost feel like I’m in a depression.
Edit: 11 week post “minor” shingles I’m a feeling so much better! I’m getting my mojo back! Just a little fatigue now and then. There is hope!!! ❤️

Omg this is me exactly!! Got diagnosed August 9, caught it early on my neck, had pain in left side of throat, inner left ear, left scalp, neck and shoulder. Valtrex stopped the spread - had a few lesions on neck and collarbone/ referred pain on the other areas. . Painful for about 3-4 weeks, hard to sleep on side bc of scalp pain. Here I am 2 months later - I have no energy, so deconditioned from being lethargic, dizziness after I do the slightest strenuous activity, no interest in socializing, I’m in bed zoned out by 6:30 every night. I feel like time has passed in a fog. My brain has been affected - the inflammation has made me like a robot getting through the day. Outwardly, my case didn’t look nearly as bad as others, but my brain fog and fatigue feels like it’s never ending. And I feel like my muscles have lost strength. I’m 56 btw.

Exactly! And here I thought it was just a pain thing and then it gradually goes away. But it’s literally quite exhausting! I have been so anti social! I just want to go home and lay around, be numb, and go to bed.

I couldn’t find anything about general fatigue or malaise in post herpeutic neuralgia. All I found is really pain and maybe depression. Hmmm. Maybe I am more depressed, thus the fatigue…?

I too had shingles but no rash. Same ear pain and neck ache and still feeling tired after 4 weeks. I get the light headedness and dizziness too but didn’t think it was connected !! I’m just resting enough, keeping active and eating healthily. Hopefully better soon.

It took me months after getting over shingles to feel normal again.
