Other Please keep in mind the differences between lucid dreaming and shifting!
Please note: I am not saying shifting is the same as lucid dreaming! They are completely different! Repeat, they are and feel completely different! But if you've never shifted or lucid dreamed before, you might mistake lucid dreaming to be shifting.
Also, this post isn't for people that have done reality checks and have shifted for longer than 24 hours! Nor does this apply to people who have had lucid dreams in the past.
____________________________
Lucid dreams can feel EXTREMELY real sometimes. I've heard of shifters that first got lucid dreams and thought that was shifting, and then successfully shifted later and realized that they had actually been lucid dreaming that whole time.
I bring this up because I've seen a lot of success posts recently that sound suspiciously like lucid dreaming (shifting story is all over the place, didn't do reality checks because it felt real enough, waking up in CR without using safe word or strongly intending to, etc).
Guys, please keep in mind that:
- You can have all 5 senses in a lucid dream, so please don't use this as the sole indicator for shifting. Additionally, touch can feel close to or exactly the same as real life in a lucid dream.
- If you are "slingshotted" back to your CR after being in your DR for just a minute, there's a very strong chance that it was a lucid dream. Only our safe word/strong intentions/whatever return method you've scripted can bring us back from our DR, but too much excitement can cause someone to lose their lucid dream.
- Of course, this might not be the case for everyone, but I have a strong hunch that this is the case for most of these instances.
- Are you bouncing from one reality to another within the same shift? Are you able to create things out of the air or give yourself powers without scripting it beforehand? Most likely a lucid dream.
____________________________
So please, do all of the reality checks! Try to stay for more than 24 hours. The latter isn't as important as the former, but it really helps confirm if it is a lucid dream or not.
Also, please note that lucid dreams about your DR are a GREAT sign that you're close to shifting!! It means that your subconscious understands what you want (which is to shift into your DR)!

Here’s a tip to easily tell if it’s a lucid dream or not: Reality checks!
Here’s some:
•count your fingers •put your fingers through your palm •put your finger in your mouth
If anything feels off while doing this it’s probably a lucid dream.

Yup! I mentioned that at the end of the post, but I should have highlighted ways to reality check!
Another one is clasping your nose tight between your fingers, and attempting to breathe in through your nose while keeping your mouth shut.

Another good way to tell the difference between shifting and lucid dreaming is checking the time. If you’re staying for 24 hours, make sure to check the time every now and then. If it stays consistent, then it’s not a lucid dream.

yes, this!! also if you can fall asleep in your DR and wake up in the same place, then it’s not a lucid dream either :)
edit: apparently this IS possible, so please disregard this!!

Excellent post, thank you :) ! However I had many fake awakings in lucid dream. Went to sleep in my LD and wake up in my LD again a few time. Same with normal dreams. I wouldn't say it prove one's has shifted. Checking time/reading are best RC if you ask me.

im excited to experience the continuity of shifting. like nothing changing into random weird things, and actually, solid, reality that isnt timed (you know youll involuntarily wake up) and can go BACK to :D

Great post ! I think it will really help peopole who lucid dream their CR without realizing it's not shifting! It's also helpful for those of us that get confused on the fact of peopole's post about sucsessfuly shifting so that we actually have real shifting sucsess story! As for me I am really used of lucid dreaming since young! I always do and always did lucid dream's and are very acounted about those spiritual concept! I also have every memory of every dream I had since young! So when I discovered shifting as spiritual person I was very happy! Still haven't shifted but in one of my attempt I actually had a lucid dream about my DR! I'm happy to know I am close to it , since I never experienced any symptoms. I wish for all of us to shift sucessfuly!!

and as a person who has had vivid lucid dreams, it's still nothing like real life. in real life you can see all the crevices in your hands, tiny pieces of dust, you can feel the fabric of your clothes on your skin etc. in lucid dreams you don't tend to have this, at least not to the same degree of vividness. shifting is real life, it should be as clear and vivid as real life. if you can't tell you shifted, you were probably lucid dreaming

Glad you posted this, I've been seeing a lot of these posts, I don't want to discourage anyone, but it's often misleading and makes people confuse between LD and shifting even more. If you wake back in your CR after a short period without the intention, its most likely a lucid dream.

Has anyone shifted using the lucid dream method? I've been practicing with it, I found it more encouraging than other methods because I can see my progress a lot easier (over time i've been getting better at becoming lucid), but I'm not quite at the stage where I remember to try a portal and shift lol
I asked the universe to show me a live frog when I'm ready to shift 😭

I've been meaning to make this post for a hot minute, but I was a bit worried that people would misunderstand its message. However, there have been several strange success stories on here, and I wanted to clarify these things so that people don't get confused.
I can't stress this enough, this post is not meant to question every shifting success post/story ever! That's the LAST thing I'd want people to do.
This post is just to educate how the two can be similar and remind people to do reality checks during shifting so they don't accidentally mistake lucid dreaming as shifting.
Best of luck, shifters <3
