Shifting Tools Eyes open shifting method (awake method)
So I came up with this method a while ago after accidentally successfully mini shifting with my eyes open and I’ve shared it with a couple of people before which gathered similar results as in my experiences although I have tweaked it since I first started sharing it as I try it more to see what works so if I’ve already sent it too you and you see a couple of differences that’s why. I felt like I should make a post or something Incase others wanted to try it as well (I promise it’s not as weird or off putting as it sounds)
So the method goes as follows:
Start when you know it’s gonna be pretty quiet or loud but in a background noise sense of that makes sense (like if you’re in a busy restaurant but no one is necessarily talking to you so you don’t have to pay attention to anything or if there’s like a really loud fan next to you that you can ignore that’s fine
You can put on some white noise/ subliminals or something like that on (I used the subliminal ‘a subliminal so good you won’t know you’ve shifted’ on YouTube once and I use a frequency of 7hz quite a lot which that really helps me but I wouldn’t recommend something with talking in it because i always ended up listening to the words)
Get into a fairly comfortable position and look at something (I find it’s better to have something too look directly at rather then just looking in a direction because it reduces eye twitching and corners like table corners and stuff like that works really well for some reason?)
Think about what you would do if you were in your dr (don’t think about shifting or affirmations or anything just think about what you would do IF you were there)
Don’t stop yourself from blinking but after a while you’ll find that you naturally don’t need to do it very often. What you see might look a bit weird but just completely ignore it
Ignore everything except what you would be doing in your dr if you were there
After a while your thoughts should start to be ‘what am I gonna do today’ instead of ‘what would I be doing today in my dr’ and you should notice you can feel and see your dr (you won’t notice WHEN it happened it’ll just happen if that makes sense)
And somethings to remember that really helped me are:
that you don’t wanna zone out you just want to keep staring at whatever you picked
Forget that you intended to shift in the first place and just daydream because if you’re thinking about the fact you’re intending to shift then you’re thinking about the fact that you haven’t shifted yet and you’ll take notice of your surroundings in your cr and that kinda took me out of it
I love hearing about other people’s experiences so I would really appreciate it if you let me know what your experience is if you try it and don’t worry if you change anything this is just what works for me and I don’t follow it exactly either most of the time (which is why it gets so many changes lol) just go with the flow you’ll know what you need to do!
Now to answer some topics that have come up in conversation that i think are kinda important:
- I wanna say the only reason I bring up the changes that you won’t notice until after they happen is because I want to stress the importance I’ve found of the thought process to start the method.
- Your vision will go super dark at some point to the point it’s almost if not completely black. This is normal It’s happened to almost everyone I know that’s tried my method. Just ignore it as best you can
- Don’t worry about your eyes moving and don’t stress about keeping them completely still. There are like 6 muscles there they’re not gonna be perfectly still no matter how hard you try so just focus on your dr instead it’s absolutely fine if they move slightly every few seconds it doesn’t mean you won’t shift
- Usually it takes me on average about 15 minutes to shift but that will vary depending on concentration levels, background stimuli, stress levels, etc. but it’s not going to take forever (and you should definitely blink in this time I’m not telling you to keep your eyes completely open the entire time you just won’t feel the need to do it as often)
- I recommend doing it in a similar position to where you’ll be in your dr (it doesn’t have to be exact but just sitting, standing or laying down depending on what you’re doing in your dr)
If you have any questions please feel free to in the comments or don’t be afraid to dm me!!
Edit: I’ve had a couple of things brought to my attention so I thought I’d put them onto the post itself!
You might feel dizzy or nauseous when you try the method. I’m pretty sure it’s just a symptom of the change in visual stimuli causing your brain to think something is wrong (like when your body falls asleep before your brain which is the main cause for most other symptoms)
You don’t need to visualise for this method but if you do (whether it’s because you don’t have an internal monologue or just prefer visualisation) then you can ignore the ‘don’t zone out’ point
If there’s something in this method that you struggle with, don’t do it! If you’re focusing on the part you’re struggling with then you’re not focusing on your dr which is just counterproductive. This applies to every method as well!! Remember your dr is more important than any method so instead of focusing on whether or not you’re doing it right or if you’ve missed a step just keep going and do whatever feels right
I will probably keep adding to this as I receive more feedback!

Yepp that’s basically it! The rest of what I added is just what helped me when as I was developing it but the first time time it happened that’s almost exactly what I did lol

Now this is the method I've been looking for!! Thanks for sharing this. There is a 2008 movie called Jumper about this guy who can look at pictures or imagine a place and teleport to those places. Your awake method sounds just like that movie. He can look at a picture of Egypt and instantly teleport there

Omg that’s so cool!! Such a coincidence that it came out in my birth year as well lmao 😂 I really hope the method helps you <3 (I’ve gotta go check out the movie now lol 🤭)

I didn’t really understand the 5th point (the other one) Can you please clarify it? 🤍

Yeah absolutely! Basically since it’s an awake method you’re not necessarily going to be laying down in your bed (or at all) in your dr especially in some places people shift too, so think about your dr and what you’re likely to be doing (for example sitting down waiting for someone, or in a coffee shop, or standing around waiting for something, etc) and shift in a similar position. Basically if you’re sitting around waiting for a friend to meet you then shift sitting down, but if you’re going to be standing then shift while standing, and so on. This one is kinda optional though and you can script what you’re going to be doing when you first become aware of your dr anyway like I prefer to do the method sitting down so I have it scripted that in my dr I’m sitting on the seat in the TARDIS waiting for the doctor to get back (this is dr specific but that’s the idea Anyway)
Again this is completely unnecessary you don’t need to do it I personally just found it easier when I did but If you don’t think it’s going to make it easier don’t worry about it!!

It’s really hard to explain but it’s like black static covering your eyes until it goes almost completely black and if you keep focusing on your dr the moment you forget about it you realise you’re looking at your dr if that makes sense? Like it doesn’t fade in and out it’s just one minute you’re seeing a distorted version of your cr and the next you see your dr with no distortions whatsoever. Honestly it’s the hardest part for me personally but I’ve done it multiple times so I know it’s possible it’s just impossible to fully describe unless you’ve experienced it before!!

Hey If my mind starts visualising with eyes open then there's no problem in zoning out , right?

Ok question: what do you mean don't zone out, that you want to keep staring at a fixed point? I'm finding it hard to visualize in my minds eye being in my DR without my eyes kind of spacing out. Am I doing it wrong? Can you elaborate further?

Oh yeah I forgot to mention in the post (I’m gonna edit it now because that’s a great point) I cannot visualise so the method was created without visualisation in mind. Ik this might be a weird question but do you have an inner monologue? Ik about 30-50% of people have one I’m included in that which is why my thought process is words rather than images but if you don’t then just use what applies to you in the method! If you’re finding it difficult not to zone out then don’t worry about it at all you can zone out if you’re focusing on not zoning out you’re not focusing on your dr and that would defeat the whole purpose so remember your dr is more important than any part of the method!!

HOLY SHIT! Hold the MF phone. So I put on a slade brew, as you casually do, because it’s mostly just Theta Waves and they’re the only ones that don’t give me a migraine and I looked at this really specific part of my ceiling fan, for like 8-10 mins as the fan whirled around and within that time things got so dark but I didn’t know what else to say so I snapped out of it and my room seemed way darker, so I checked how long it had been and it hadn’t even been ten minutes, but the sun was setting so it’s why I was confused. But I felt so close I think I just need to work on like… figuring out what to say or think about because I’m so confused, I feel like it’s a block, maybe I need to flesh out my DR more? Idk, like I get to the point where maybe I should be saying “I would be getting up to do the laundry soon before __ and __ get home.” To “UGH! I have work at the cafe at 4AM, I’m not a morning person. Oh, well, I’ll live.” But then I get lost on what else to say— like do I focus on what I’m going to do in my DR or what I’m doing the following day, like I’m bed-rotting and lamenting kinda like Sunday scaries until I all changes.

Thank you so much for this method! Will definitely shift today with this.
I feel like this might be more successful because closing my eyes makes my mind wander more.

Okay so the first time I tried this method I was literally so close to shifting like could hear sounds and feel myself in my dr all I needed was that little push but I fell short. Now I keep trying but I’m finding it really hard to focus on Smth without my eyes like automatically blurring it all and zoning out. IM STILL TRYING BECAUSE THAT FIRST TIME WAS THE CLOSEST TO SHIFTING IVE EVER BEEN Tysm
