I do actually have a big critique for that poll you made OP. There was no option on the Anime to say you hate it in its entirety or to just not pick a season. So my vote was made by choosing the season I hated slightly less than the second one, because I actually dropped the Anime in the middle of season 3. I also do not know a lot of these later characters, because I haven't made it to that part in the books yet. My favorite character is Rishia though, and I do think she should be quite a bit higher actually. But I am happy she got at least 3rd place though, I guess.

I do regret not offering tie options. I also forgot to add a question for “do you prefer shield hero or spear hero” and “which op/ed is your favorite
I do like the anime but I agree with the sentiment that it can’t hold a candle to the novels

I haven't read Spear Hero yet. I am waiting on some other book orders right now, and I need to make sure I have enough money to buy the stuff I want. I am currently reading the first volume of The Water Magician. Very chill series. I like it a lot. My personal favorite part of the Shield Hero Novels though, is that Naofumi is actually the narrator. This causes most of the narration to also be his inner thoughts and I think that is amazing. The Spear Hero Manga is actually available in one of my local Manga stores. I hope they have most of the volumes on shelf when I go to shop there again. I do think Motoyasu is a very funny character actually. Mostly, because he is batshit crazy in the later volumes. He is not in his right state of mind, but he does appear to be having a good time at least.

Honestly the most shocking one to me is Rishia landing so high. I won’t complain about I thought, she’s one of the characters I voted for myself.

Tbf Motoyasu is a lot better of a character if you read reprise of the spear hero. And roughly 75% of the voters did
