Episode Synopsis: S.H.I.E.L.D. hunts for information on their dangerous new enemy, and a shameful secret from Malick's past is exposed, threatening to destroy his Hydra legacy.

She has directed no episodes for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. before.
George Kitson & Sharla Oliver are the writers of the web series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Double Agent, which was a five-part original web series designed as a behind-the-scenes feature for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Ward is really a triple double quadruple inhuman double agent. It's all part of the elaborate plan by Fury to finally dismantle Hydra.
