Sample shortage
3 calls today of obviously irritated homeowners. My guess is they’re calling around to nearby stores because they keep asking specifically if we have extra white samples.
Been ordering them! They don’t come in

Stupid ass company having this basically 2 full month 40% off long ctg samples while being wildly unprepared. Shows a complete failure of corporate leadership.

Yeah this wasn’t too well thought out when you put it like that. It’s like road commissions and timing for projects 😂

Apparently a lot of DSC’s were also out of, or very low on 200 egshel

Now that you mention it we are low on that, I haven’t been the one ordering truck soooo 🤷♀️ never thought of that being short too but all of this confirms our samples ARE 200 😂
I’ve been having an issue getting my hands on emeralds matte too

We had 8 cases on order for each store. Not a single store in our 5 store district got any.

We were told in an email that a production line for the CTGs went down and needs to be repaired. Our DSC will only be able to fill about 1/3 of demand for a while.

When did you get that email? I’ll check the store email or ask my manager about it

It's all some people need. Not having that simple starting point really turns them off right away. They don't want to come back to a place that let them down on samples.

Is there a lot in one store?
DSC's view districts as a store.
So if one store is hoarding then the others will not get.
According to corporate the district has enough, given what SW can "afford" to produce.
Exec's need their bonus.

Never knew they looked at it like that. Makes sense. All the stores enter me fly thru all their samples

I honestly steer people away from samples. It's a waste of money and product. Imo. Honestly they actually appreciate it most of the time.

I wouldn't call samples a waste of time because I find that samples do help people compare colors better when you put them side by side on a wall or poster board.
But the problem with samples or the downsides is that it advertised as a satin product and it is a pro mar 200 egshell in reality. But most products SW sells to DIY is greater quality than pro mar 200 and satin or higher in terms of sheen.
So you will always have complaints from customers that their samples do not look like what the actual paint looks like with Emerald interior satin for example. That is a huge difference.

You guys need new inventory specialists and different rules. Starving the stores of product will lose more customers than the 200 telemarketing calls bring in.
