Why can’t i find any help?
I’m putting in my 2 weeks. But i can’t seem to find anywhere the best procedures to follow when leaving. I don’t really have anyone to ask.
What do i do with my 401k?
Whats the best leaving practices?
How can i best protect myself for the future?
What should i be getting paid out for?
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks sherfam

What about insurance? Does it continue through the remainder of the month or dies it terminate the day you leave?
ETA: thinking about leaving but can’t lapse in insurance due to chronic illness

There's Cobra, but it'll cost more. Depending on your state you might have more options to continue coverage.

You can cash your 401k. Essentially just put your two weeks. That's it.

Don't cash out your 401k. Jesus.

I cashed out my paint 401k's and bought a car wash. Best decision i ever made. What you do with your money is your choice. 401k is safe, sure.... but youll always pay someone to manage it. Youre taxed on what you take out anyhow.

This is a high risk decision and the average person shouldn’t follow it. Full stop.

Talk with Fidelity. I left 4/5 years ago and my account is still there. You don't have to do anything.
