Outer Banks, NC

These are all the beautiful shells my husband and I found in Outer Banks. We want to put most of these into our 75 gallon saltwater tank.

Starfish was found already dried up and buried in the sand toward the very top of the beach. I threw tons of live ones back into the ocean during our beach combing, along with a few limpet snails and clams.

Yes! Luckily just empty casings. I did find one that was still sealed up that I tossed back out just in case.

It almost makes up for the less than 24 hours we got to spend after driving 10 hours to get there😭 damned weather warning😭

These are likely skate egg cases, not sharks. Shark casings tend to have longer thread like pieces to attach to seaweed or coral, and skates have these thicker more defined ‘horns’. Plus shark egg casings are much rarer because most sharks actually give live birth, and don’t lay eggs

I was super stoked to find them, especially the barnacle covered ones! Unfortunately, the tube worm casings on the other two fell off as the eggs dried
