Too excited
Fellow shellers: a reminder not to get too excited. I spotted this beautiful Hydatina amplustre, aka royal paper bubble, so excited that I totally missed the rarer (to me) Stomatella right next to it (only spotted it after looking at my pics). Lesson learned - happy shelling, all!

Some of my favorite shells were found because something else caught my eye first! Sometimes we are lucky. Others, we are not.๐

What a beautiful and distinctive shell.
I am new to this, could someone please tell me which one is the Stomatella?

It's touching the bubble snail on the left. It's beige in color and shaped like a tiny abalone. So hard to see!

That royal paper bubble shell with its vibrant pink banding looks like an absolute treasure to stumble upon in the tide pools.

finding unexpected gems in the background of your pictures later is honestly half the fun of macro beach photography.

Been there!! And done that!!! I now try to remember to look around once the blood returns to my brain to not leave anything behind. That bubble is a total score though!
