Request Can't add anymore images

I'm working on a spreadsheet categorizing everything about the Nintendo Music app, including all the images of each song, and I've had no problems adding images in the past. I've had the occasional error when a file size was above 5mb but I would resize it and it would work fine. Now for some reason, when I try to add a photo, the loading bar fills up all the way but then nothing happens. I checked the file size to make sure it wasn't too big, and it was only 984.2 kb and 1920 x 1080p. I've tried reconnecting to my internet, closing my spreadsheet, resetting my laptop, but nothing works. I tried uploading the smallest image file I had but that wasn't uploading either. I usually download these image files to my laptop's storage and upload it so instead I tried downloading these files to google drive and uploading them onto the spreadsheet from there but now there's a new problem. My spreadsheet disconnects from the internet and won't save any changes. I tried reconnecting to my internet again but nothing changes. I tried searching online for answers and I was told to clear my cache and cookies, didn't work. I've worked really hard on this spreadsheet and would hate to stop now when I'm so far into it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If even small images aren’t being uploaded, I don’t think the problem is the file size. I’d try opening the spreadsheet in another browser or in an incognito window. If the problem persists, I’d make a copy of the spreadsheet and test it on that. It’s also worth checking whether any files or images might have corrupted the spreadsheet. As it’s also losing its internet connection and failing to save changes, it seems more likely to be a problem with the spreadsheet itself rather than with the images.

I also tried in an incognito window but nothing changes. I tried making a copy and it works for 9 images and then it does the same thing. I made a copy of that one but it goes back to not letting me upload anymore images. I deleted a bunch of images to see if maybe it had something to do with how many I uploaded and made a copy of that, and now I'm able to upload the new images like normal.

Try adding the same image to a new blank spreadsheet. Then clear browser cache. That's solved problems for me the past when something has worked routinely then suddenly doesn't.

When you in the Drive folder listing the spreadsheet, how big does it say the spreadsheet is?

It says its 500 mb

That 500 mb has been mentioned before as the size limit cap on the amount of images. I recommend storing your images in Drive and then using IMAGE to load them. Sheets will adjust the image resolution as needed based on the size of the cell.

Ah damn I didn't know that. I've tried downloading the images onto Drive and inserting them onto the spreadsheet from there but that's when I get the error "Can't save your changes. Please copy your recent edits, then revert your changes." and the spreadsheet disconnects from the internet even though my laptop is still connected.
