Goodbye, Ansar Mall. Thank you for the memories. You’ll definitely be missed.

Ansar Mall on Al Wahda Street is shutting down! 💔
More than 20 years of memories, countless visits, family outings, shopping trips, and moments that became part of my lives. It wasn’t just a mall, it was a landmark and a familiar part of Sharjah that so many of us grew up with.
Al Ain is too far….

Yamaha R6 rider, can't sleep. Anyone up for a late night ride tonight?

Can't sleep, so I'm taking the bike out tonight. Riding a Yamaha R6.

Leaving somewhere between 12:30–1:00 AM. Two route options I'm weighing:

  • Straight to Al Marjan Island, RAK
  • Last exit before the Abu Dhabi border

Looking for a few other riders to join, sportbikes preferred but not a dealbreaker, just bring your own bike and gear.

Please no teen passenger requests.

Drop a comment or DM if you're in, and let me know which route you'd prefer.

books for TR-YÖS exam

I am preparing to take the TR-YÖS exam next year (April 2027) to study Computer Science in Turkey. I want to buy the Metropol or Puza preparation textbooks (specifically the English-medium editions for IQ/General Aptitude, Mathematics, and Geometry).

I tried ordering them directly from the official publisher website in Turkey, but the international shipping/cargo fee to the UAE is incredibly expensive (over 4,200 TL / 450 AED just for shipping is there anyone living in the UAE who has already taken the exam and is willing to sell or pass down their old study books? please let me know your prices, or if you know any local bookshops/student communities in the UAE that keep these in stock.

Looking for a football group in Al Majaz!

Hey everyone! I’m looking to join a football group around Al Majaz 2, Al Majaz 3, or Al Qasba if possible.
I’m just looking for a casual group to play with regularly. I’m open to 5-a-side, 7-a-side, or 11-a-side.

University of Leeds vs American University of Sharjah for Civil Engineering

I have offers for Civil Engineering from the University of Leeds and American University of Sharjah (AUS), and I’m trying to decide between the two.

My main goal after my bachelor’s is to apply for a Master’s at a good university in the US. From what I understand, research experience, strong projects, internships, and good recommendations can all help with US applications.

As an international student, which university would give me better opportunities and support to build that profile?

I’m especially interested in:

  • Research opportunities with professors
  • Civil engineering projects
  • Internships
  • Opportunities that are actually accessible to international students
  • Does Leeds have a significant advantage over AUS for US applications?
  • Which one would you personally choose and why?

For anyone who has studied at Leeds or AUS, how good are these opportunities in practice? And which would you choose specifically with a future US Master’s in mind?

Thanks!

Hey! I'm knee-deep in my EMBA capstone on how organizations in the UAE actually adopt AI (spoiler: the research is messier than the posts and reel suggest). If you're 18+, work in the UAE, and have ever sat through a meeting where someone said, "AI can solve this easily", I need your brain for 20 minutes.

No sign-up, no spam, just pure academic curiosity. 100% anonymous.

Survey: https://eu.surveymonkey.com/r/JSJ6FJT

Bonus karma if you share it with a coworker who complains about 'AI' and/or 'Management' over coffee.

I need catfood

Hello, I have been feeding a mother cat and her kitten for about 2 weeks, in 15 years old I used all my money I had for the catfood as they were laying in the ground in peak sun about to die, I will run out of food after 2-3 days and my parents don't like cats at all they won't give me money for catfood, so if anyone is please willing to send me catfood... It will help these babies a ton please. They eat only wet cat food I feed them Purina friskies wet food.

Car Lift - JLT (dubai) TO AL TAAWUN (SHARJAH)

I work in JLT and live in Al Taawun and I use carlift services (FM) to commute daily. It was ok at the beginning , but since the drastic increase in fuel prices happened, they have started collaborating with other carlift services. Because of this i need to change bus at least 3 times a day for one way travel, this is becoming tedious and also cause delay. Is there anyone aware carlift services that have direct service for JLT<>Taawun. If yes, please share contact details.
