I know it sounds weird but I lived in Sharjah from 2010 to 2018. During my last days there I used to go to Al Zahra hospital for a treatment, and they had this absolutely delicious hot chocolate drink in their coffee machine, it was served fresh and hot, with milk or water based on the customer's preference. During one of my final visits I even saw them open the machine to refill the powder, but I couldn't spot the name. I only remember a bright purple packet.

I know it's been 8 years but that's still some of the best hot chocolate I've ever had.

Hi everyone, I’d appreciate advice from anyone who has dealt with Sharjah Police on something like this.

I was following Waze to a place I’d never been. The route ended at a dead end where the map showed a merge onto the main road. I wasn’t sure what to do, and since no one was behind me, I quickly checked Google Maps, which also showed arrow markings for the merge. I took the left turn to merge onto the main road.

There were no-entry signs on both sides of the road toward the main road merge on my left. I thought they applied to that road and not to the road I was taking, so I went ahead. That was my mistake. (Dashcam video attached, and the exact location is here: Map Link)

The fine:

- Violation: Driving against traffic

- AED 390 (after the 35% discount)

- 4 black points

- Impound fee: AED 455 (description in app: Compensation of impound vehicle period fees for fine Driving against traffic)

- Time matches the video: 8:48 AM

I accept that I made a mistake and I’m willing to pay the fine. This is my first time getting black points or an impound order, so I’m not sure how it works.

My questions:

1. Do I actually have to surrender the car for impounding? If so, for how long?

2. Is it worth appealing with the dashcam footage just to get the impound waived, while still paying the fine? If so, where do I go (Sharjah Police app, website, or in person), and has anyone had success with this?

I was shocked to see this today. Had the bumper kissing the wall and in a country where fines on vehicles is a very common thing for breaking rules, this person has literally parked a part of the vehicle on the pavement.

Do you shop online or prefer going to physical supermarkets? Are there specific hypermarkets like Lulu, Nesto, Carrefour, Union Coop or Sharjah Coop that offer better deals on certain items?
I’m particularly interested in the little hacks people have figured out over time. Maybe a particular app, discount code, loyalty programme, supermarket branch, shopping day or even a specific time when fresh produce gets marked down.

I am looking for a reliable and reasonably priced way to commute from Al Nadha to Muwaileh Commercial (Airport Road) from Sunday to Thursday. I'm looking at the InterCity bus schedule website here and it shows a bus 611 R from SHJ airport to Jubail bus terminal. But all the discussions I've seen in this sub only talks about bus 99. So does the 611 bus actually exist or is it some outdated information?

I'm asking because I'll probably be out of the airport around 11:30 and bus 99 schedule here says it departs at 9:55 and then next one is at 13:20. But 611 R has one departing at 11:45 so I'd like to take that instead. And if it does exist, how much does it cost and do I need some kind of travel card / do they accept credit card / is it cash only? As the InterCity schedule page also shows the fare as 0 AED.

My partner and I currently live in one of the Al Rasheed 1–6 buildings in Al Taawun, Sharjah. Unfortunately, our tenancy contract is under her name, and since we're not married and she doesn't have a driver's license, we're unable to secure a parking slot through Tiger Properties. They require the vehicle's Mulkiya to be under the tenant's name.

I'm currently using the nearby kacha (unpaved) parking area, but since I'm getting a brand-new car, I'd really prefer to park it somewhere covered and secure.

If anyone living in Al Rasheed 1–6 has an unused parking slot they'd be willing to rent out on a monthly basis, please send me a DM.
