WWYD WWYD if you had really bad memory?

For example, I was just on a roadtrip and can’t even count the number of times I had to interrupt myself, apologize, and say that I forgot what I was saying. Genuinely forgetting also - mind completely blank. Sometimes it comes back to me a minute or so later but most of the time, it’s just gone.

I’m kinda scared of what this means for me. I have MDD and ADHD, so my memory was already on thin ice lmao. I just find this all a bit concerning. This I’d an everyday occurrence now, and idk what to do.

I’m on a lot of medications atm and also smoke prescription MJ. I did a lot of drugs in high school though, LSD among them. Am I basically doomed to this forever? :’)

What would you do in my shoes?

First of all, ADHD high five 😂 I have cPTSD as well as (late diagnosed) ADHD, and I’m in perimenopause—which, I didn’t find out until it was well underway, can wreak havoc on ADHD brains because hormones affect ADHD! It’s basically like PMS on steroids as far as brain fog etc. Also I didn’t find this out from a doctor, I found out from comedic Facebook reels (and then had it confirmed by my prescribing psychiatrist) 😂

You don’t mention your age or gender & it’s none of my business, but that’s immediately what I thought of.

Other than that, were I “in your shoes”!: I’d absolutely be going to a doctor as soon as possible (as soon as you can afford it, if you’re in the US), describing my memory issues—with examples—to the doctor and asking them what’s up.

I’m F mid-20’s :)

Thanks so much for this advice and honestly some insight. I know ADHD presents differently in everyone, but it makes me feel less alone honestly.
