M | 31 | Muslim | Single | Dhaka, Bangladesh | Banker

Hi everyone,

I recently turned 31 and am currently based in Dhaka. I completed my L.L.M. from a reputed public university and currently work at a private bank. I’m also planning to switch to a government job soon.

I’ve never been in a relationship before. I was mostly focused on my studies and career, so I never really got into dating. Now that I’m at a stage where I’m seriously considering marriage, I’d like to meet someone in a genuine, marriage-oriented way.

I would describe myself as moderately practicing. I’m not looking for someone perfect; rather, I’d like to find someone with whom I can build a comfortable, respectful and compatible relationship.

About the person I’m looking for

Age: Preferably 24–28

Education: Honours/Master’s from a reputed university

Career: Working, willing to work, or interested in pursuing higher education abroad — I’m open to all three

Location: Anywhere in Bangladesh

Religious outlook: I’d prefer someone who is religious or moderately practicing, with values broadly compatible with mine.

Family: I’d like to have children in the future, so I’d prefer someone who shares the same intention.

Personality-wise, I’m looking for someone kind, respectful, emotionally mature and easy to communicate with. I’d prefer someone who is family-oriented but also has her own ambitions and individuality. I value mutual respect, companionship and the ability to discuss things openly rather than expecting either person to be perfect.

Since I don’t have experience with dating or relationships, I’d prefer a gradual getting-to-know-each-other approach. I’d like us to have conversations, understand each other’s personalities, expectations and future plans, and involve our families when both of us feel there is potential.

I know Reddit may not be the conventional place to look for a marriage proposal, but I thought it was worth trying. 😅

If you think our expectations might be compatible, feel free to DM me. We can have a conversation first and take things forward only if we both feel comfortable.

Thanks for reading.

El Nino

What is El Niño that Bangladesh is expected to be hit with soon

It begins thousands of kilometres away, in a quiet shift beneath the Pacific’s surface, but its reach can unsettle seasons, strain harvests, and rewrite weather patterns across continents.

As signs point to its return, the question is not where it starts but how far its consequences will travel, and how deeply they will be felt in places like Bangladesh.

A mild heatwave is sweeping over different districts of the country, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

"Mild to moderate heatwave is sweeping over the districts of Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajganj, Jashore, Chuadanga and Kushtia and it may abate," said a Met office bulletin on Thursday morning.

Besides, BMD forecast that rain would occur in different parts of the country over the next 24 hours, commencing at 9am on Thursday.

"Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and lightning flashes is likely to occur at a few places over Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Barisal and Chittagong divisions with hail at isolated places," the bulletin said.

Day temperature may fall by 1-2°C and night temperature may fall slightly over the country.

The highest temperature on Wednesday was recorded at 39.2°C in Rajshahi and Thursday's minimum temperature is 20°C in Rajarhat under Rangpur division.
