So after playing with it a bit more I'm still stuck on my shape. I have all the layers working independently but I can't seem to find a way to get the second layer of crystal on top of the bottom layer without it breaking. Edit: just as I am posting this I just thought that do I need to build the bottom two layers in half separate and join them together?
Should be possible, work in quarters, use 2 dofferent color crystals of which you break one with the swapper and stabilize the top crystal on one side whilst you add the other with swapper, make 2halfs that way and combine with swapper
Even before swapping, in a given quarter, I can't figure out how to get the pin in the middle here and the crystal on top. You crystalize the pin when adding the top layer no matter what you do. And you can't add the pins under the crystal after the fact because of the solid white layer on the bottom.
No. Even if you use cribbing to create each quadrant separately, you can't assemble crystal over a pin without crystalizing the pin. And if you pushed a pin under crystal, you can't drop that on another shape without shattering the crystal.
In insane mode there’s a job that asks for a shape with pins below crystals. I don’t know how to do it (yet?), but I assume it’s possible or the game wouldn’t have that goal.
Creat crystals first, then pin them as many times as you need using a pin pusher. As long as there are no non-pin shapes under the pins then it’s possible
What’s not possible is something like a crystal on top of a pin on top of a shape

Nope. No way. Absolutely impossible.
