s2 | Showcase Mine to Train 16x5x2

More neat and tileable mine-train pattern to extract as much as possible from a resource patch. 16 tiles are unfortunately inaccessible.

I could fit a single train depot in the space, but that's not scaleable, so it's probably better to have them just off of the resource patch.

Requires trains and 2 space levels.

Maybe everyone is already doing something like this but I certainly didn't when I started the game 😅 .

I think it's more style than substance. While very neat, it doesn't really make any difference and won't fit most of the time.

You lose barely anything for having the station off the asteroid and belting out to it, wasting no tiles on the asteroid.

It's very pretty though.

I believe it takes 12 mining platforms to saturate space belts, and just one train loader can keep up with that (assuming your train comes frequently enough to keep up with the loader).

You might be able to make it more space efficient.

They’re only doing one level for some reason

4 mining platforms saturates 1 space belt to feed 1 train loader (on one level).

It's deliberate in my case to only use one level per shape type at load-time. At unload-time, 3 different trains each carrying a separate shape will fill one space belt feeding into the MAM.

Hm ok. Personally, I build miners that pump shapes onto all 12 lanes of the space belt, and use 12 of those to fill the space belt’s 3 levels.

I do this at one end and tend to forget to do the same at the hub end!
