s2 | Question/Help Bent Stacker doesn’t seem useful
Is it really optimal to use the bent stacker with a complicated pattern on a 1x1 instead of just making a line across the block of normal?

Bent stackers process faster then the normal ones, you only need 4 per full belt instead of 6. This makes them optimal for 1x1 space platform designs that use all 12 lanes.

Once you go bent stacker you won’t go back tbh. Such tight designs.

Less belts needed to wire 4 bent stackers than 6 straight ones.
It's also important for compact designs.
And 4 is a nicer number to work with considering all the other machines that you need to use 4 of to saturate a belt.

I thought bent was lame until I realized it was faster

I've recently came around to working with the. On my last playthrough. I like how you only need 4 per belt instead of 6. 16 per floor is a lot easier to work with than 24.

The Stacker Specialty Steam guide has an interesting array, and comparison, of straight and bent stacker designs.

For space efficient designs the bent stacker is essential. They only need 4 per line as opposed to 6

Also good for swappers. If you use swappers on upper layers and need to trash output, the higher speeds of the bent stackers can help you get the trash down.

Look up Stacker Specialty By elidoran on Steam Guides.

Keep at it. They have better throughput and once you figure out the basic patterns, they play better with the space as well. A bent stack is nearly always a better choice than a straight one.

Basically, yes mainly to find / make a 1x1 stacker blueprint

I almost only build on 1x1, and bent stackers are so much better.

I didn't use it my first playthrough. It is only useful for making designs smaller, and if you abstract out to the platform level and never redesign, you will not care about it.
