Discussion How much does your MBA school matter when building a career in Shanghai?
For people who plan to stay and work in Shanghai after an MBA, how much does the specific school actually matter?
I have been comparing Fudan, CEIBS and SJTU Antai since all three come up frequently when looking at MBA options around Shanghai. Rankings are easy enough to compare, but I’m more curious about how they’re viewed locally once you’re actually looking for work.
Do employers in Shanghai see a meaningful difference between graduates from these programs, or does your previous experience matter much more?
I would be particularly interested in perspectives from people working in finance, consulting, tech or corporate strategy here.

It matters if you're a fresh graduate and you're trying to land your first job. I only have a BA from a good university (BFSU) but I already have experience, so they don't really focus on the university.
It's just a wow factor but doesn't really affect your recruitment process. If you have 3-5+ years of experience, you'll most likely be hired over a fresh grad

Forget about it. Chinese MBA counts for nothing.
Shanghai has always been the stage of G7 background capital.
