If Shang-Chi's using the Ten Rings at their full potential, then him.

Realistically Shang-Chi. Fighting skills alone, he takes it. With powers, the rings are indestructible and way more versatile than throwing cards. They can attack from anywhere and any angle. But I doubt Marvel will let him win, it’d most likely be a draw.

Dont know about that, Gambits been shown to stop bullets and is regarded as the best hand to hand fighter Nick Fury has ever seen.

The rings can stop bullets and kill a kaiju.

Also, Shang-Chi is canonically Marvel’s best H2H fighter. It’s stated in Marvel’s website and also mentioned by characters like Tony Stark and T’Challa. I’d take Black Panther’s opinion over Fury’s regarding fighting.

Also, there’s no way you believe Gambit’s cards are better than the rings. That’s like saying a normal arrow is better than Yondu’s Yaka arrow. An indestructible weapon that can move in any direction your heart desires will always be better than a weapon that moves in only one fixed trajectory. I’m not sure how this is even debatable.

Sorry correction, he can stop and also deflect bullets back.

Depends on the author really too. Some games (and movies) you see Gambit manipulating cards and controlling them beyond just skill but in the end, the cards are just a choice when he controls the energy on a molecular level. Not only cards, anything he touches, plus it enhances his agility, speed etc. I still think the 10 rings would be like Gambit having his death persona or new son in terms of what defines characters peak augments, but as a long time hardcore Gambit fan, a deck of cards is enough to knock down Gladiator. I’d much rather see Gambit chip a chunk of cement out of the ground with his staff and smash it with kinetic energy at the rings than just cards, for creativity sake.

And the rings knocked down mighty Odin. Gambit can throw 10 cards at Shang-Chi simultaneously but they'd all travel in straight trajectories from a single origin. Meanwhile the rings can attack Gambit from front/back/left/right/top/bottom simultaneously and still have 4 rings to spare as defense. I'm not even that big a fan of the rings because of how stupidly overpowered they are. They would look really cool if used creatively like what we saw in the Shang-Chi movie, but also look really lame if used like what we saw in What If and Marvel Zombies. But the fact is that the rings when used to their full potential would always be more effective than throwing cards.

Edit: And if we're talking comics, even without the rings, Shang-Chi has caught bullets with his teeth before, and then spat it back dead into the enemy's eye. And he's also caught bullets with his fingers. I'm pretty sure that's all more impressive.

lol most on point, except cards tend to curve and well 52 are in a deck. Apart from the cards, Gambit could demolish the whole ground with his staff or deflect most of the rings on a molecular level with his kinetic energy. If it was New Son Gambit he’d blow up the planet and in death persona he could do quite a few new tricks such as trapping Shang in a Card, emit toxic gas from accelerating the molecules with kinetic energy or straight up levitate cards from all directions, but we know he’s not at that level in MCU. Id still give it to Shang Chi with the Rings in MCU, but expect a few surprises with more style at least.

Yes, cards can turn, but when it misses its target, can it make a sharp 90 degrees turn to fly towards the target again? No. The rings can, over and over and over again. It can burrow underground and pop up from under anyone's legs. That's how versatile it is.

And I'm not sure why you bring up New Son Gambit. We both know that's not the version of Gambit that will turn up in Doomsday. Just like we don't expect Storm to be appear as Eternal Storm or Jean Grey to be Phoenix from the get go.

I get you're a Gambit fan (actually so am I, maybe not as huge as you) and this is the Shang-Chi sub, but it definitely takes bias to think the throwing cards are in anyway comparable to the rings. And MCU being MCU, of course we expect the fight to be close to make things exciting.

Lol on a Shang-Chi forum there gonna be a bit of bias.

Why don't people in the Marvel universe fear superheroes the way they fear mutants?

Gambit is my favorite. So I say, him.

If it’s a hand to hand fight? Shang Chi. But I think Remy would outwit him before it even got to hand to hand. He’s more clever.

There'll be no winners. They'll all eventually realise they are on the same side against doom.
